Only stayed one night before a flight - Very clean rooms, owner is very polite and helpful, and the location is right near the train station. 5 minute walk to the Duomo. Has a lovely, old charm feel. I would stay again!

My husband and I recently stayed at the Bellevue House. We had a very pleasant stay and highly recommend it. About a 5-minute walk from the bus/train station, it is conveniently located within walking distance to the major sites, restaurants, etc. We were warmly welcomed at this small, family-owned hotel and one or more family members were always available. Our...

We stayed here for two nights as a family of 4. The room was large and gave us lots of space to move around. The location was great- walked from the train station in 5 minutes. Also close to all major sites. Alessandro was awesome and gave us great suggestions for restaurants and gelato. We took him up on them...

Ask for a room off the street. They were very helpful. We had an early morning flight. They arranged for a cab and accompanied us down to the street at 5:30 am and waited until the cab arrived. No elevator 3 flights up.

Staying at the Bellevue House is like visiting family. The interior is cozy and authentic and the owner/operators are friendly and always willing to help and give advise on where to eat and visit while in Florence.

The family was very nice and helpful during our stay. The location is excellent near attractions and train station. Good home base for Tuscany. Self service laundry is very close. I would recommend this accommodation.

Great location. Easy walk from the train station and near to most of the tourist attractions. Most importantly, the room is clean and spacious. The owners are very hospitable. Gave us a lot of tips about the places to visit and eat, which we appreciated very much!! Though we need to climb the staircase to reach the hotel, but it's...

We stayed two night at Bellevue House with our two children (7, 11). The room was really big and had a convertible sofa. We also had our own bathroom. Everything was spotless. The location is perfect for exploring Florence, with also many places to eat nearby. Our hosts were extremely helpful, from helping us getting a parking space for our...

My husband I stayed at the Bellvue House in late December 2016. It was awesome! Luciano and his wife were some welcoming and helpful! As other reviewers have noted, the location is fantastic and the local restaurants Luciano recommended were so good, we visited the same one three times. It was right around the corner and a five minute walk....

Staying in Santa Maria Novella

Neighbourhood Profile
Santa Maria Novella
Santa Maria Novella train station welcomes the majority of the people arriving in Florence, which might explain the hectic pace. Commuters and tourists come across the constant hustle and bustle of the station before exiting, taking a few steps and stopping amazed in Piazza di Santa Maria Novella. It is impossible not to admire the the square, housing one of the most charming basilicas in Florence. The area has plenty of local spots to taste Tuscan specialties, but don’t stop in the main streets alone; the narrower side streets always ensure satisfaction. The huge Parco Delle Cascine provides a solution to the need for a green area as well as a historic welcome in the form of a bronze statue of King Vittorio Emanuele II riding a horse.
