Our second time at this Palazzo. Beautiful antique rooms by the Duomo. Breakfast delicious. Staff very helpful. Air conditioning turned off during part of the year. Rooms are variable and individual. Restaurant downstairs very good.

I loved my stay here.....so beautiful. A great location, stunning rooms, wonderful breakfast, and extra touches like chocolates and pastries at night in the sitting room. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was very well appointed. WiFi was excellent. My only gripe is that the young woman on the front desk was on the phone, very loudly, a...

What a fantastic experience at this elegant but comfortable palace. Walk out the door and you are at the back of the cathedral. Amazing. Place is so clean, and my husband and I felt like royalty. Honestly, great place to stay and everyone was so helpful and accommodating. Wish I didn't have to leave!

My wife and I just returned from a vacation that included two nights in Florence. We stayed at the Palazzo Niccolini, and it was, indeed "al duomo". Not more than 50 feet from the street that surrounds the cathedral. It is the "worthwhile splurge". Actually, considering that breakfast is included, it's not a bad price for a beautiful hotel in...

The Niccolini is a beautiful hotel and an oasis in the middle of a busy city. The staff were helpful and we were upgraded to an apartment which was fantastic. The breakfast room is palatial. Definitely would return here if we are lucky enough to find ourselves back in Florence.

Had a truly wonderful stay at this fabulous hotel in May for our 25th Wedding Anniversary. A fabulous location with the Duomo, shops and restaurants right on the doorstep. The hotel was clean and very comfortable. The staff were cheerful, helpful and very willing to help. There is a beautiful dining room where a fabulous buffet continental breakfast is served....

This hotel is a very nice boutique hotel with cheerful and knowledgable staff. The room we had was like an apartment with separate living room, bedroom and bathroom. The continental breakfast was a nice way to begin the day (the coffee was especially delicious). But I think the best thing about this property is its location. It is about 20...

Fabulous stay in Palazzo Niccolini. Literally a stone's throw from the Duomo and a short walk from the major attractions. Great restaurants and shopping nearby. The owners and staff were all extremely welcoming and attentive to our needs. The Palazzo itself if a wonderfully restored building with roots going back to Donatello. If you're not convinced of the authenticity of...

Staying in Duomo

Neighbourhood Profile
Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
