This is a great hotel! Only 5 minutes from the train station so I was able to walk. The hotel is modern and clean as well as having super comfortable beds in the rooms. Only minutes away from the central market, and a 5 minute walk to the Duomo and the centre of the old city. As a female, solo...

Superb location right in the historic city center and walking distance from Santa Maria Novella train station, the Duomo, Mercato Centrale and many great attractions. Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful from the moment we checked in and until check out. The hotel is in excellent condition as it has been recently renovated and rooms are comfortable, although the...

Excellent modern hotel in a great location, right next to Mercato Centrale (central market), an absolute MUST to go when you're hungry (suggested by concierge)!. The hotel is also about a 5 minute walk from the Duomo and less than 10 min from the other major sites in Florence (Academie, Uffizi, etc). The room is very clean and of average...

First of all we were greeted by a very friendly receptionist who was professional but also good humoured. I was dreading sharing the room with three other male friends but the room was so good that it wasn't a problem... You had the main room, another little room through sliding doors and then you go through another door to a...

Ideally located a short walk from the train station and few yards from the Mercato Centrale, the Globus was a wonderful surprise. The recent modernization looks better in person than in pictures. We were given a very spacious triple room with great air conditioning. Our teen-aged daughter was delighted with her double bed after having had single beds in other...

This hotel was perfect for what we needed: a single night stay on the evening we arrived from the states. We took a shuttle to the train station and then easily walked to the hotel with our carry-ons. Very well located for this. We took off the next morning for an event in Tuscany so did not explore Florence from...

This was our favorite hotel in all of Italy. The front desk staff was always friendly and very helpful, they provided a map upon our arrival and held our bags until our room was ready. We toured the city for a few hours and returned when our room was ready, they even took our bags upstairs and had them in...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Hotel Globus was completely renovated in June 2016. The new reception area, located on the street level of Via Sant'Antonino, is now connected to all rooms thanks to our new elevator. The new breakfast area overlooks a small courtyard with a nice vertical garden. Our staff is a mixture of all ages, languages, cultures and countries, always smiling and willing to offer you tips on places to visit, restaurants to try. They're always there for you. For what regards our location, it is definitely one of the key features of Globus. The proximity to all the Santa Maria Novella train station and all main attractions, including the Duomo, both major museums (Uffizi and Accademia Galleries) or Ponte Vecchio, among others, makes it very easy to plan even the busiest day without the need to lose time getting from the hotel to your desired location. What makes our neighbourhood special though is definitely the Mercato Centrale, located just around the corner from here. In the morning, that is where you want to go if you're planning to buy some food to take back home, or simply want to try the famous Tuscan specialties, "trippa" and "lampredotto". Where this place shines though is the 1st floor, open from 10am until midnight. It's a big, modern open space with many restaurants, serving a variety of really delicious food. Make sure to check it out! ... more   less
