I booked this hotel a few times since I found it by accident a few years ago and plan to come again this year. It's the perfect package to make your trip to Firenze easy and comfortable. First, I love the central location, you can walk in less than one minute to the Cathedral and have your breakfast in one of the many nice cafés around. The rooms are not luxurious but I didn't expect that. Much more important: The rooms are silent, I had a nice view on the street and could see the top of the Cathedral from my window. Finally, not to forget: The owner of the hotel and his daugher are so so so nice and always at hand when I had a question or needed assitance in changing my flight back to Germany. I can highly recommend this place. And I will always want to come back.
We arrived on a Sunday and as the parking is closed we booked a garage just across the way as I was happier than trying to move the car early on a Monday morning in the dreaded ZTL zone. When the car parking opened on Monday we moved the car with directions from Marco in the ZTL zone quite easily. The car once parked remained there for the rest of the week. The hotel is so central you can walk to everything easily. The room was clean and warm when we arrived, there was a kettle etc in our room which we though was great. The room was large and we had opted to go for the private bathroom. The room was very quiet which surprised us because of the hotel being so central. The central heating was working very well and we actually had to turn the radiator down in our room a couple of times as we found it too hot but that is not an issue. Marco was very friendly and always willing to help advise us if we needed help in what we were planning to see, so take advantage of his knowledge. For the ability to walk out the door and see the Duomo ahead really this is a really great value hotel.…
The boss of Hotel Dali (Marco) speaks great English and owns this family run establishment, which is also located at a ridiculously good location. He and his family provides impeccable service at unbelievably affordable rates. He personally guided me into his parking garage twice and provided fantastic recommendations on restaurants and attractions. Please at all costs, do not miss this amazing deal! Hotel Dalì is located in the heart of Florence, a couple blocks or a five-minute walk from the Duomo. It’s a budget hotel, so don’t expect 5-star decor! We got a rate of 75€/night for a week’s stay in late September. Please don’t accept a budget rate like this and then complain that the furnishings are a bit shabby or dated! Our room wasn’t spacious, but it was sufficient. There was also a small lobby area where we went in the evening to play a board game. What I loved: clean, comfortable bed, elevator, space to unpack into closet and drawers, adequate ventilation (fans, no A-C), mini-fridge, location, location, location! Close by, there is a piazza with several restaurants, cafes, and a gelateria. AND the super-helpful, friendly staff! Our main contact was with Azzurra, who thoroughly oriented us to the location of all the major sights and how to access them. She accommodated our special requests (extra pillows, ice), and she went above and beyond to ensure we didn’t incur fines for bringing the car we rented to leave Florence into the ZTL zone to load our suitcases. The only snafu was that we had a confirmed reservation for a courtyard view room, made months in advance, and at check in were given a street side room (with a peek-a-boo view of the Duomo, if you lean out the window!). On the first weekend night, we realized why we had asked for courtyard side! The street noise (human, not vehicular) was loud, disruptive, and continued into the wee hours. I feel confident that our assignment to the street side room was an oversight and that staff would have relocated us to a courtyard side room, if possible, if we had asked. But we were already completely unpacked and settled in, so we chose not to ask to move. If I return to Florence in the future or if friends ask for a recommendation, I would recommend, without hesitation, the Hotel Dalì.…
Very helpful hosts. We were guided (by phone) to the free parking spot in the courtyard of the hotel. What a service!! The hotel is brilliantly situated in Florence. All museums, the dome and beautiful squares are close. The young lady at the counter advised us where to eat. Great advice, away from the tourists eating Italian food between Italians. Her English is exceptional!
This hotel is incredible .... You ask why? There are many reasons ! First of all thanks of wonderful owner Marco. He is so simpatic, helpful and lovely that living there is a pleasure! Another time I want to thank You so much for everything! 😀 Moreover, this hotel is located 1 minute from Basilic of Florence...and from my window I had an amazing view of cupola of Basilic...I was looking at it in the morning and in the evening, what a pleasure! 😍 Under the hotel is a nice restaurant and in the next street is a fantastic Piazza di San Pier Maggiore with historical towers and lovely bar/restaurant. In the Hotel Dali is everyday service, atmosfere is very kindly, it's very clean and quiet during the day and night. I recomend it from all my heart...and Ibhope that one day I will return to my favourite Hotel Dali! 👌👍💪🇮🇹❤️…
Location of the hotel is just amazing. 2 min walking from Duomo is the closest that anyone could expect. Our host Marco is very friendly and always available for help. Having parking in the hearth of Florence is just amazing thing. Just make sure to say in advance that you need parking. And you can keep an eye on your car in the courtyard all the time. Place is very clean, not modern decoration but it was amazing. We stayed for 4 nights, and we could say that we could stay for another month. Thank you Marco, we had a great time in Florence and we will be back.
I emailed with Marco prior to my daughter and friend arriving in Florence. He was prompt in replying when he wanted the booking. I gave him a credit card to reserve the room. He (or his staff) told my daughter payment had to be in cash when they checked in. When I emailed him during her stay asking him to return the cash and take the credit card he never had the courtesy to reply. He probably avoided paying the tax to the city as required. My daughter said the hotel was very noisy. Disappointing that a business man would take advantage of young girls traveling. You had a chance to make things right Marco. When we come to Italy we will stay else where.
I recently stayed at the Hotel Dali. Marco, the owner, was the absolute best. I had flown out from the USA and was on a European cruise and while on a tour in Florence my wife had a hip fracture. While she was in the hospital I stayed at the Hotel Dali. Marco helped me in every way possible. He answered all my questions, helped with my luggage, was absolutely invaluable with emailing medical documents and clearances and assisting me with contacting my travel insurance provider. I was in a foreign country and Marco was the ultimate concierge. Is there anything more important while being in a foreign country than safety and security and having the level of customer service that I received from Marco. While Marco was printing some of my documents the printer ink ran out and Marco went down the street and bought a printer cartridge, came back and finished with my documents- he went above and beyond. The hotel feels more like a club where everyone is friendly and supports each other's tourist experience. Marco is relaxed, helpful, supportive and genuinely interested in your stay. The hotel is conveniently located near the Duomo, well run, thoughtful for the guests with comfortable rooms, some with private showers. While I was in the hotel I saw the numerous plaques that Marco has received from TripAdvisor and now I know why.…
This was the perfect place to stay for our family and totally made our visit in Florence. The hotel is centrally located, right down from Il Duomo, so we were able to walk everywhere easily. Marco, the owner, was so sweet and very welcoming when we arrived. Since there were three of us, we stayed on the 3rd floor apartment "Anna." We loved it, very spacious, with a full kitchen that has an extra pull out couch. The Master bedroom was huge and also had a pull out couch and a desk. It may sound corny but it really felt like we were getting a full Italian experience and we felt so comfortable for our three night there since we could cook, keep stuff in the fridge, and even do a load of laundry. Very clean and airy in the afternoon. A note to travelers: we are avid travelers with no accessiblity issues who don't expect frills since we spend the day exploring. This is not the place for you if you expect a fancy luxury hotel experience. Also, while there is a small elevator, it can not fit a wheelchair. We travel very light but it still took some effort to haul our bags up 3 narrow, concrete stair ways. Also, there is no air conditioning, but there is a fan in room. When we were there the temperature was in the 90s but it wasn't overwhelming in the room and once the sun begins to go down, you can open the windows to the Central courtyard and get a nice breeze. Will definitely recommend to friends!…
