This is a nice little hotel on one of the floors of an older building. There is a lift, which is good. The staff are nice and helpful and there from about 8:00 AM until sometime in the evening. The rooms are comfortable and large enough, the private bath is clean and functional. The WiFi works fine. They will make...

The hotel ist just few minutes walking from the central station, and just few steps from Santa Maria Novella. It´s situated on the 3rd floor, but there is a lift, which is perfect, if your suitcase is too heavy :) in the room there is air condition so do not worry if there is too hot outside. From the hotel...

Scored 3 stars for the price of what you get. Our room was dated but clean. The wifi didn't work in all my 3 device using the the code. Hotel though is within walking distance to to the Doumo, Uffizzi and also Firenze SMN, the central train station in Florence. Close by shopping areas and few steps to the square...

We were moved to this hotel by Booking.com a few days before our arrival in Florence so we didnt have much time to rework and just went ahead with it. Finding the hotel was a little challenging upon our arrival at Firenzi Railway Station since local people didnt seem to know Vila de Sole much, our gps and phone wasnt...

I stayed here for $51 on Friday. I did not meet any other guests, and the neighborhood was also quiet. After 9:30 p.m., nobody works in the front desk, although one can call them at night. The staff was professional. It is near the St. Maria Piazza, one of the four corners in the old city. But since the city...

Very friendly staff and great service. The rooms were clean and location was in a great position! I would definitely come back for their service! I needed to buy a new phone and the staff went out of his way to tell me how to get around to buying a new phone! He was very helpful!

Nice comfortable clean hotel. Compared to other hotels in Italy where we have stayed this has been great. Great location with most sights in easy walking distance. Air con could be a little better but it has been extremely hot. Good size room and bathroom. The only suggestion would be to have a small fridge in the room?

Staying in Santa Maria Novella

Neighbourhood Profile
Santa Maria Novella
Santa Maria Novella train station welcomes the majority of the people arriving in Florence, which might explain the hectic pace. Commuters and tourists come across the constant hustle and bustle of the station before exiting, taking a few steps and stopping amazed in Piazza di Santa Maria Novella. It is impossible not to admire the the square, housing one of the most charming basilicas in Florence. The area has plenty of local spots to taste Tuscan specialties, but don’t stop in the main streets alone; the narrower side streets always ensure satisfaction. The huge Parco Delle Cascine provides a solution to the need for a green area as well as a historic welcome in the form of a bronze statue of King Vittorio Emanuele II riding a horse.
