I'm a very optimistic guy, I try to see the good in everything... I guess the only good thing about this hotel is the location and that I didn't see any bugs. If cleanness is not your priority, and I mean, a clean room is the last of your concerns this might be your place. The staff and the owners...

This tiny hotel is right in the middle of Florence's main street. It's a stone's throw away from the train station and also the pick-up point for all the best bus tours of the region. It also has a number of lovely cafes just outside it to pick up breakfast on the way out. And of course, the big bonus.....

We were for three nights there. Our room was in the 5th floor and just for 4th floor it has elevator. You can access to free wifi only in the lobby and you can't connect to wifi in your room. Rest room is so big but bath cabine is too small ☺️. But staffs were good and room was tidy....

The reviews were quite dubious, but this hotel is really good. It is cheap, the check in went fast, the rooms were okay and the location (close to the train station, next to the S. Maria Novella) is perfect. The wifi was not working properly and the rooms were a bit small and old, but overall a very good experience.

Great location, but I would not recommend this hotel because it lacks basic comfort. There is free wifi, but only in the lobby and not in the hotel room itself. Forget about showering because there is no hot water; the water temperature gets as warm as room temperature and the water pressure is too low. Air conditioning and tv function...

Hotel was good, I mean the room was good, the location was just perfect!! Next to Santa Maria Novella Station and Duomo. We paid more for breakfast and ate in the next hotel Bonciani (Something like that)), and the breakfast was perfect there.

After reading several trip advisor comments, I was very apprehensive about staying at hotel spagna. When I arrived, the front of the hotel and the reception isn't great. It's not dirty, just needs a paint job and some tlc. I was told politely that check in wasn't till 2 and that I could leave my suitcase in the back room...

This hotel is the worst that I have ever been to. It is very chaotic, front desk are horrible, very impolite (Luka or Louis). He literally yelled at me. The bed sheets are clean but the covers and everything else smells, and you can tell they have been not washed in ages. When I arrived, one of the garbage bins...

Staying in Santa Maria Novella

Neighbourhood Profile
Santa Maria Novella
Santa Maria Novella train station welcomes the majority of the people arriving in Florence, which might explain the hectic pace. Commuters and tourists come across the constant hustle and bustle of the station before exiting, taking a few steps and stopping amazed in Piazza di Santa Maria Novella. It is impossible not to admire the the square, housing one of the most charming basilicas in Florence. The area has plenty of local spots to taste Tuscan specialties, but don’t stop in the main streets alone; the narrower side streets always ensure satisfaction. The huge Parco Delle Cascine provides a solution to the need for a green area as well as a historic welcome in the form of a bronze statue of King Vittorio Emanuele II riding a horse.
