Being a budget minded and experienced traveler, I always do a lot of research to find the perfect place to stay. I was quite surprised when on my recent trip to Florence, I was able to easily afford one of the top rated hotels in the city. Usually it's a balance between finding something nice and finding something that doesn't...

Similarly to a lot of people on here we chose Il Perseo thanks to the great reviews it received and it certainly didn't disappoint. Even before we'd arrived they had made reservations for us at the Uffizi and Accademia. Location was absolutely perfect for exploring the city and it was a great start ot the day to leave the hotel...

Cleanliness - very clean room, clean shower, ample room in the bathroom (unlike some other places we stayed in Europe) Location - very convenient to the train station, which is how we arrived. It was about a 7-10 minute walk. It's a block and a half away from the Duomo, basically under 10 minute walk to anywhere downtown. The only...

We really liked staying here; short walk from the train station, really friendly staff, good spaces in the rooms, close to everything! We were so happy with our stay; it is owned by an incredibly wonderful couple and they are so helpful with everything you may ask; restaurants, how to get somewhere, even helped me find a box to get...

I am so glad we stayed here. It is a great central location (2 minutes to the Duomo), excellent staff, free breakfast (rolls, Danish, hard boiled eggs. cereal, OJ, fruit, toast, they have staff to make cappuccino, espresso, etc. for you each morning). The staff is extremely helpful and gives good recommendations for places to eat. The rooms are very...

A nice, clean hotel in the middle of the action in Florence. Nothing is far away, especially the train station as you can walk the three blocks to the hotel. Very friendly staff and modern accommodations. I would definitely stay here again.

We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Il Perseo! We arrived in Florence at 7.30 am on the overnight Artesia train from Paris (don't do this, it was a nightmare!). We were very tired after the train trip, but it was only a short walk from the train station to the hotel. We had expected that we'd have to leave...

I booked this hotel based on the great reviews on this website and we weren't disappointed. The Duomo is RIGHT NEXT TO IT and is easily seen from anywhere in Florence. You can walk to every great museum and attraction, it's central and there are some great restaurants around. It's a five - ten minute walk to the train station,...

We read all of the great reviews and decided to give it a try. They were all correct, the place was great. The room was clean and we had a great view out our window. The best part of the hotel was the staff. You can get a nice room anywhere but they staff really go out of their way...

Staying in Duomo

Neighbourhood Profile
Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
