This was probably the worst hotel I've ever been in. When you first enter the building, its a dark entryway and at night has a bad odor, also a metal gate comes down and shuts the place off after a certain hour (you can buzz to be let in). You take a tiny old elevator up to the fourth floor,...

Dear Vin S, We are sorry that you had such a negative impression of our hotel. Fortunately the majority of our guests has a different opinion of it, as proven by the many positive comments received. The size of the room is in line with the European standards considering the fact that our hotel is situated in an ancient palace...

A very comfortable little hotel. Clean, well staffed and modestly priced. A room with a view of The Cattedrale di Santa Maria del Fiore was perfect for us. The morning breakfast cost ten Euros but is worth every cent. We could open our windows and be serenaded by street musicians below.

Location, location , location!! This is in the heart of the city in Piazza Duomo, surrounded by beautiful architecture, plus cafes, restaurants & shops galore. It's vacation paradise!! Hotel was small but quaint. They have a lift that goes ground up to lobby. Bed linens were very clean & soft. They really put out a delicious spread for breakfast -...

If you are short on time and want to see as much as you can around the Duomo, and the Centre really, then this hotel is next to it. If you need a break during the hot day, it's just few meters away. Friendly staff and good breakfast, even had a special on mini bar, where the first round was...

Location was great and close to all sites. Everything was in walking distance. The location was also close to the train station making it convenient to get to. The managing staff was excellent and very helpful with all requests. A great breakfast was served every morning. Overall a very good experience.

When my husband booked on the webpage booking.com there was a beautiful description of the hotel and reviews were wonderful, so my husband booked our holiday stay for a 3 night stay in July. Dear Gloriastein, We are sorry that you have had some inconvenience once reached our hotel, but this is due to a particular and personal situation lived in the past. Most beautiful view of the Duomo and lovely breakfast for an affordable price. Given the location I thought the rooms would be at a low standard but they were nice, comfortable and very clean! We arrived and left in the evening to avoid massive crowds when lugging your luggage around

Steps away from the Duomo and Michelangelo's David... perfect spot to stay if you're a tourist visiting the city. Accommodations are good, pretty decent for the price range, but it feels a little tight getting around inside and the elevator from the ground floor is extremely cramped if you're carrying more than 1 suitcase.

Dear Michael G, Thank you for the nice review. We are glad that you enjoyed your stay and accomodation with us. As per the elevator, it is one of the first built in the city and it has a historical value, which is why we cannot change it with another one, but only keep it the best way we can....

We had room# 31 with a balcony facing the cathedral. The Duomo was so close, it felt like you could almost touch it. Room was comfortable. The shower was tiny! In a city often lacking in good value places to stay, this one ticks all the boxes. Room was compact but you don't go to Florence to stay in your bedroom. But spotlessly clean . AIRCON was efficient . Staff were friendly and of course the location is perfect.

Staying in Duomo

Neighbourhood Profile
Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
