We stayed 3 nights at Hotel Duomo, the location can't be beat in the heart of Florence. It is so fun to open the window and see the Duomo across the street and see the flurry of activity of the tourists below. The room is clean and comfortable and all the necessary amenities are provided for in the bathroom. The...

We stayed one night at the Hotel Duomo in Florence. What a location! You literally look out your window at the side of the Duomo. The room was fine - not large by US standards but worked perfectly for us. The staff were very helpful and the optional breakfast for 11 euro per person was very good.

Hotel Duomo was an excellent place for us in Firenze. The location is superb, close to all major sights and very convenient to the train station. It was an easy walk to the hotel at arrival and to the train station to leave. No hassle with cabs. Firenze is an amazing place to visit and Hotel Duomo is a perfect...

The location of the hotel can't be beat, it's right smack in the center of the city....right next to the Duomo! I arrived very late as I missed the last fast train from Rome and the person who greeted me that night was very welcoming despite me waking him up. My room was very cute and I had a direct...

My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights, and the location can't be beat. You can't get closer to the Duomo, and it is very good for walking the rest of the city. Our room was clean, we got a partial view room, but would recommend getting a full view room if you stay here. The room was a...

My favorite thing about this hotel was the location. Walking distance to the train station and to the duomo. Breakfast had a lot of variety and the rooms were nice and clean. Decent size rooms and bathrooms.

What can I say......this hotel and especially the room, is amazing!!! If you can book room 40, as we did, you will NOT be disappointed!! It was fabulous to see the dome and bell tower directly out our window. Amazing!!!! Maybe our favorite hotel view of all time. Worth every penny to pay a little more for this room. The...

We stayed at the hotel for a week and came away absolutely loving our time there. The styling of the hotel is classic (the lift, flooring, decor, windows) but with modern touches (bathroom, wi-fi) that made the stay very enjoyable. The room was spacious enough for two, with an amazing view of the Duomo from the side on the third...

There were not a lot of hotels avail for a reasonable price during the time we were there and came across this hotel not knowing anything really much about it. Our room had an amazing view of the Duomo - our balcony was directly across the street from it - you could hear the beautiful music from the street -...

The location cannot be beaten, as it is within easy walking distance of every major sight one could want to see in Florence. The drawback- the standard room are very small. The shower is small, even by Florence standards. However, all is compensated for by the location, the cleanliness of the hotel and rooms, the breakfast, the courtesy and helpfulness...

Staying in Duomo

Neighbourhood Profile
Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
