We originally were supposed to stay here for 3 nights however the hotel had different plans. We were told that it's only two nights because they were fully booked (despite the confirmation email stating that we were confirmed 3)trying to tell this to the person in charge was pointless as we got the response of what "what can we do...

Loved the combination of a great location and a suuuper clean room! What more can you ask for when your sole goal is to roam the streets of Florence all day long. Would gladly recommend it to any keen globetrotter looking for an honest & clean place to crash. Gentleman at the reception was very helpful (both over the e-mail...

After staying in hostels it was a total treat to stay in a place with our own large bed and bathroom. Wifi was really fast and the staff were lovely. A 10 minute walk from the main shopping/tourist areas but it's actually nice to be away from all the major tourism places.

We traveled with a group of 20. Although the hotel was able to accommodate the size of our group, it really is not intended for that purpose. It is indeed not really a hotel, so much as the third floor of a building with a long hallway of bedrooms. Some of the disadvantages are that the hot water did not...

the man at the reception is not nice, he doesnt talk much and didnt really awknowledge us much. What bothered us the most was that the little fridge in the room was not working.. The beds are not comfortable and the hotel it's not very clean. When arriving the first day it does look a bit shady and the paper...

First of all I have to say that it's not a real hotel, is a Pension, located in the third floor of an old building with an old 'lift' and really old and not maintained stairs. It is not located in the city center, but at 10-15 min walking to the Duomo. It is really clean and the staff is...

We stayed for three nights. Originally we were supposed to stay only for two nights, but we enjoyed our stay so much so we took one extra night. We got good service and the view was good from our room. Room was clean and nice. Totally worth the money we spent!

Normal quality hotel, very good location. Definently not for a trip with small kids. Very good price. Definently it is in a old building but just spend some nighst during visit in Florence is enough. Good for persons looking low cost hotels.

We stayed two nights. It wasn't bad but it wan't great either! Room and bathroom were clean, but we had one serious problem - there wasn't a proper bathroom door :) There was only some kind of paravane instead of the door. Location is very good, everything is reachable on foot! Wifi was excellent! Staff - very nice and helpful.

Small hotel on the 3rd floor on the edge of the city centre. It is a small place with only a few rooms. We arrived late and the reception was already closed. Unfortenately there were no towels. The rooms were spacious but a little outdated. The shower was small and not very clean. Wifi was availible but could not reach...

Staying in San Marco

Neighbourhood Profile
San Marco
The pleasant atmosphere of this residential area, a stone’s throw away from the Duomo of Florence, surprises everyone. A continuous flow of backpacking students provides the tranquil surroundings for the elderly residents who sit in Piazza San Marco to read the daily newspaper. Home to several universities, including the Academy of Fine Arts, San Marco is one of the most vibrant cultural centers in the city. A bridge connecting the modern cultural activity of Florence to its classic art, represented by the everlasting magnificence of the original David, resonates as a symbol of Florence and of Italy as a whole. Get lost in a Neoclassic world, a journey back in time through historic buildings like Spedale degli Innocenti (Hospital of the Innocents), San Marco church, Basilica della Santissima Annunziata, and natural jewels like the Botanical Gardens.
