An overnight stay before travelling on to Rome, Marco was extremely helpful and told us the best way to get to the city centre and recommended a great restaurant, The only downside is the location is a little out of the way, but once we knew the best way it was about a 15 minute walk, ideally located for the...

My wife and I, along with friends, stayed here in Florence for 7 nights. The B & B is an easy walk from the train station and in a very quiet neighborhood. The owner, Marco, was there to meet us and gave us a brief history of the B & B which was the home he was born and raised...

We arrived at the Atelier Cosseria on Sunday 09/21/2014, taking the directions Marco (the proprietor) had given us when we made our reservations. Easy to get to (about 1/2 mile hike) just head to Binary 16 (last track on side of terminal); walk along track until out of terminal; take the brick sidewalk down to bus station; keep walking past...

I had booked this hotel for the first night of our stay in Florence for my girlfriend's birthday. I was sent no communication from the hotel suggesting that arriving in the evening was unacceptable! We arrived at 9pm, our flight having been delayed, no answer from the buzzer and the owner was extremely rude when I phoned him, point blank...

I cannot thank Marco, the owner enough. Traveling alone is somewhat challenging but he made me feel at home. The B & B is located near the train station in a more residential neighborhood but an easy walk to every venue. My room was clean and spacious and quite larger than I expected. Marco's cousin put a lovely spread out...

My friend recommended me this little B&B. And yes, he was right! Short walk from railway station without crossing any big streets. My only problem was to find number 18, since there is no sign for Atelier Cosseria . Rooms are spacious and clean and most important. very quiet after all that hustle and bustle in old town. All rooms...

We stayed here for 2 nights on a short break to Italy. The hotel is a 15 min walk to the Centre of Florence (10 mins to Station). The owner Marco was incredibly helpful. He texted me a few hours before we arrived to tell me the best way to get there from Pisa airport. Easy by the way, bus...

Just returned from Florence today, after spending a week at Atelier Cosseria. It is a lovely, simple, comfortable, clean and bright place to stay. It is well worth walking 10 minutes along Platform 16 to the friendly hotel, run by Marco and Paulo, both very efficient and giving good tips for places to eat and tours to go on. We...

When we arrived we were warmly greeted and after settling into our room Marco gave us some excellent advice about what Florence had to offer and good places to visit and eat. We found this advice really helpful during our stay. The room was of an excellent standard and very clean with everything we needed for our stay. The breakfasts...

My fiance and I stayed in the B&B for 3 nights, and it was perfect! I really couldn't fault it. Upon arrival, we enjoyed a glass of wine, whilst Marco carefully drew up all the hot spots and directions on a map. This was really handy, as neither of us had been before. We used this guide each day. The...

Staying in Santa Maria Novella

Neighbourhood Profile
Santa Maria Novella
Santa Maria Novella train station welcomes the majority of the people arriving in Florence, which might explain the hectic pace. Commuters and tourists come across the constant hustle and bustle of the station before exiting, taking a few steps and stopping amazed in Piazza di Santa Maria Novella. It is impossible not to admire the the square, housing one of the most charming basilicas in Florence. The area has plenty of local spots to taste Tuscan specialties, but don’t stop in the main streets alone; the narrower side streets always ensure satisfaction. The huge Parco Delle Cascine provides a solution to the need for a green area as well as a historic welcome in the form of a bronze statue of King Vittorio Emanuele II riding a horse.

“It is a recently refurbished hotel, decorated simply but beautifully, good showe., Soft white towels are provided and comfortable beds. Breakfast is ample, eggs.cakes, fresh fruit, yoghurt, toast, and freshly made great coffee, to set you of for the day's exploring. There is a little, but heavenly scented courtyard at the hotel, a little green oasis.”
