Our room had a direct view to the Duomo and we spent plenty of hours on the stunning rooftop terrace! This hotel was lovely. The wifi wasn't working at the time but we didn't even need it in the end The hosts were always happy and smiling and they were absolutely awesome. The rooms were large enough and a bit... More

I give a very good rate because the location is amazing, the hotel is clean, however they have an awful wifi, which for me as a tourist is really important. The gentlemen attending does not smile a lot, but they do the basic, as opening the door, giving you the key, buy they do not have sens of humor.

The hotel is in the center of Florence and you can see the Duomo from the windows in the dining room. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Nice bathrooms. The wall to wall rugs are a bit worn which takes away from the ambience to give this property a higher score. The Grom ice cream shop is right outside the... More

Great hotel on the 4th (top) floor of an old building with a lift, one street away from the Piazza del Duomo. The ceilings are super high, like in all old houses in Florence, the bed is large and comfortable (it has twin mattresses pushed together, but that wasn't a problem!), and the room, en-suite bathroom and the whole hotel... Where to start. We saw this was boutique hotel and had smaller rooms, which was true. However, location is terrific and once you know where it is easy to find again. Our room overlooked the Duomo which was breathtaking. Clean and anything we asked for they accommodated. Price was reasonable. Señor Villani could not be nicer and any advice we... More

We loved our stay at the Villani Hotel. We had the most beautiful view of the Duomo whose bells were our alarm in the morning to get up and out and see. We were looked after in every respect in a kindly way. The sheets were lovely and cotton and wonderful to fall into after our long lovely walks in... More

We stayed at the Hotel Villani for our 2 nights in Florence. We chose this hotel due to its location and it was perfect! We loved that we could walk everywhere we wanted to go. We had a room with an amazing view of Il Duomo (I think maybe Room 41?). Although the room itself was rather simple, it had... More

Last two days of business trip in Italy, I spent here. Hotel is beyond my words. I cannot fault this place on any part during my entire stay. I would classify it as a five-star hotel in all the respects. The room I was provided was modern, incredible and comfortable. It had everything which I needed. Staff was very kind,... More

After a lot of discussion, we all planned a 10 days vacation in Italy and decided to visit Florence city first. The city is very beautiful and Hotel Villani the place, which we booked for accommodation, was - just superb!! It is an elegant hotel appointed with all the luxurious amenities and is very close to the major attractions of... More

We booked this hotel based on the reviews found here. We got to the hotel to find it smelled horrible, there was a man passed out in the lobby and a very dirty space. We asked to see a room and found it to be unacceptable so we thanked the man at the desk and found a much nicer hotel.

Staying in Duomo

Neighbourhood Profile
Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
