The Villa Montartino was an absolutely wonderful place to stay. We stayed there for two weeks, using the Villa as homebase as we explored Tuscany. Florence is only minutes away by taxi, but you feel like you're deep in the Tuscan countryside. I have never experienced better service than we received at the Montartino. I heartily recommend it to anyone!

When my now husband and I were looking for a location for your Italian wedding, we searched hundreds of different venues all over Florence. Then we came across Le Piazzole. The pictures looked fabulous so contacted the villa and the lovely Benedetta got back to me straight away. Benedetta went through everything, and we very quickly decided that the villa was for us. For 10 months Benedetta helped me with almost every aspect of my wedding, from cars, photographers and caterers to music and make up artists. I must have sent a million emails, but Benedetta responded always with helpful ideas and willingness to do as much as she could for us to make our wedding day the day of our lives.
We decided as we loved Florence to stay, along with our guests, in various hotels throughout the city. We had our ceremony in a church within the city and then used shuttle buses to get all our guests to the villa after the ceremony. This worked really well although we stayed in Le Piazzole on our wedding night, once our guests had left, and it was lovely.
I have to say we were nervous visiting the villa for the first time only 2 days before our big day on 6 September 2013. We stepped in an wow!!!! The pictures were beautiful but in real life I cannot put into words how lovely this place is. I could not have imagined better in my dreams. Benedeta showed us round, and went through the run of the day. We left feeling totally at ease and excited for the days to come.
The day of the wedding came, and Benedetta was still there for me at the end of an email. All the flowers, car, make up, photographers she had arranged went smoothly and after having the ceremony in St James Church in the centre of Florence, we went to the villa.
Our guests were amazed. The villa on entry had the absolute wow factor! We had canapés and champagne cocktails around the pool. A jazz band keep our guests entertained. The atmosphere was delightful. The canapés were so delicious and just kept coming! The staff were so friendly, smiling and chatting as they served drinks.
We went through to the Italian garden for our dinner. Benedetta had set up the tables and flowers exactly how I had asked. It was stunning. The food, the music, and then watching our wedding cake being made was truly exceptional. We had wild boar ravioli to start, and fillet steak for main. The staff kept coming round with seconds, which our guests loved. As the sun went down, and the lights around the villa came one, I cannot describe how magical this place was. Our guests kept saying they felt like they were in a movie set. They told us they felt so looked after and so did we. We had our evening party in the ampetheatre, with candles hanging from the trees. It was everything I had every wanted for my wedding and more.
Since we got home everyone has told us that this was genuinely the best wedding they had ever been too and some have even described it as "epic" which is all down to the amazing venue and the even more amazing Benedetta who helped us to have the day of our lives. And we cannot thank all the staff at Le Piazzole for making it so. If anyone reading this is thinking of booking le piazzole for your wedding, put your faith in it and do it.

I stayed at the Stella apartment in the hotel with my familyfor two nights. We had the bedroom and the kids slept on the fold out couch. The views and the gardens from this hotel are so beautiful that you can't stop being amazed. Having pools to go to after a long day sightseeing is also wonderful. My kids loved the floats and pool toys. The breakfast on the terrace included with the room was delicious and convenient. There was a computer with an internet connection outside our room which was also a thoughtful touch.

Unfortunately I can't recommend this hotel without some strong concerns. The first was the bathroom, because there is no shower stall, just a curtain rod and a hole in the floor, it was impossible to take a shower without flooding most of the bathroom floor. Because of this the grout between the tiles was brownish black with mold. Also the bathmat had a salt and pepper look, also from mold. While you are taking a shower there is no place to put your soap or shampoo except on top of the toilet or the bidet which makes it very awkward.

The dresser in the room has no drawer pulls, so people probably use the keys to pull out the drawers which is probably why the middle drawer was broken and could not be used. Furnishing are a matter of taste, but the wool throw rugs seemed worn and the yellow bedspread and chairs could use some updating. There was a nice glass cabinet and the big windows, tile flooring and tall ceiling were great.

Also when we came back from sight seeing and were too tired to walk the hilly 2 km to Piazzale Michelangelo, we asked about eating at the hotel. Unfortunately you are required to make reservations the day before which we didn't know. Since the hotel is in a quiet residential neighborhood we had to then drive to get food or take a taxi. There are no lists of local restaurants and directions to get there, so the person at the front desk drew us a quick map. We got lost in the neighborhood since the streets are unmarked from the back entrance. Having a detailed neighborhood map marked with buildings and restaurants would have been very useful.

To sum it up, the bathroom, decor and lack of food options make what could have been one of the best places I have ever stayed into one I probably won't go back to.

A friend recommended the Montartino to us, so we canceled our luxury hotel in the middle of Florence to follow her advice. I'm so thankful that we listened to her. The Villa Montartino is a beautiful place that completely exceeded my expectations. It is situated in the middle of an olive grove on a hill near Florence. The surroundings are stunning, the rooms are immaculate and stunningly appointed. The service was phenomenal, the complimentary breakfasts were delicious. I can't wait to go back. It's one of the best places I've ever stayed.

By accident we ended up in the Villa Montartino, as our other hotel was overbooked. No need to complain though...We found it heaven on earth, and hope to go back soon for a longer visit. The views are magnificent, the people very friendly. Do not miss breakfast, the view from the loggia is absolutely terrific!!!

Myself and my wife recently got married in Villa le Piazzole, and could not have asked for a more beautiful setting!! The villa is absolutely stunning and ourselves and all of our guests were blown away with the standard of the the facilities and the service!! Lucia and all the staff were so accommodating to our every need, and keep the villa and its magnificent grounds to the highest standards, and the location is a stones throw from Florence. We would highly recommend a stay for anyone travelling to Florence!!

We have just spent three fantastic days at our daughter's wedding at the marvellous Villa Piazzole. We couldn't have wanted more. The staff, led by Lucia, were attentive, pleasant and hard working. Nothing was too much trouble and everyone had an amazing time.
Every little detail was attended to without having to be asked and even the clean up teams worked silently through the night to ensure freshness the next morning.
The wedding itself was a triumph and the pizza party the following day was a lot of fun for both children and adults.
If you're looking for a stunning venue in a stunning city then look no further!

We celebrated my 50th birthday at Villa Le Piazzole and I can’t tell how happy I am, as well as our guests – with this experience!
From the very beginning the communication with the Villa managers Benedetta and Lucia were great. They were responsive, attentive and willing to help.

As a result of a multi-months preparation, we had a perfect mini vacation for our family and friends, who came from many countries to spend together 3 days and 4 nights.
We had wonderful days, filled with activities and site seeing of Tuscany and Florence and delightful evenings. We had three dinners by the pool (pizza night, a barbecue and cheese-wine-tomatoes-bread) and a celebratory evening with appetizers and music by the pool and then a sit-down dinner in the Orangerie.

Most of our guests were accommodated in the villa.

Overall it was a great unforgettable experience.
Many thanks to the owners, managers and all the helpful and friendly staff!

A presto!

I was here for three days as a guest and stayed in a hotel a short distance away, but what a venue. The views are stunning and the house and grounds provide a welcoming sophisticated environment. While I was there we had picnics in the gardens, dancing in the amphitheatre, pool party and pizza in the evening and walks in the vineyards across the road. Other reviewers have said it all, I would have no hesitation in recommending this venue for your wedding, business event or family get-together.
