This hotel was clean and very convenient and walking distance to everywhere except Boboli Gardens and train station where we took a taxi. They willingly booked our tours and all went well. Good value hotel. Bathroom hair dryer could be updated but other than that ..all was very good. Breakfast was very good..typical with bonus fresh squeezed orange juice to... More

The hotel is located in a beautiful, charming building. We stayed in a deluxe room with a view of the terrace and the garden. The room was nicely furnished and clean. Hubby felt the room could be improved by one or two chairs with backs (rather than just a bench) and maybe a lighted shaving mirror (lacking in most rooms).... More

I have been very surprised when I was staying in this hotel and noticing that it has only three stars. The hotel is wonderful and I would defintely recommend it to more stars. Rooms are nice and versatile and the breakfast is very good. The staff is also very helpful but it is nearness to the Florence center that I... More

The hotel and the rooms were just as pictured. Our room had windows to the yard so it was nice and quiet. Breakfast was very good and included freshly squeezed orange juice which was the cherry on top. We had a bottle of prosecco and some snacks waiting for us in the room as it was our anniversary trip. It... More

Nice large updated room, very pleasant and helpful staff and a great location. Fornt desk was staffed 24/7 and staff was ready to help with whatever was needed, suggestions for dining, sites and cabs. Wonderful happy hour on the veranda of the hotel. Within easy walking distance of great restaurants and famous sites.

Room great, not too modern but not old fashioned. Would have liked spare pillows. Location good. Free drink on first night was very welcoming. Staff were very helpful. Only disappointment: orange juice machine wasn't working (or out of oranges) on the first morning - it's a personal thing!

Dear Guest, I am sorry for the orange juice you missed one morning, the delivery man of the fruit shop was terribly late that day! Glad you enjoyed all the rest! Francesco More

Great hotel within walking distance of the train station and all the sights of Florence. Nice terrace for drinks and very friendly staff. Room was clean. The standard rooms are small, but adequate. A good breakfast included with the room

Staying in San Marco

Neighbourhood Profile
San Marco
The pleasant atmosphere of this residential area, a stone’s throw away from the Duomo of Florence, surprises everyone. A continuous flow of backpacking students provides the tranquil surroundings for the elderly residents who sit in Piazza San Marco to read the daily newspaper. Home to several universities, including the Academy of Fine Arts, San Marco is one of the most vibrant cultural centers in the city. A bridge connecting the modern cultural activity of Florence to its classic art, represented by the everlasting magnificence of the original David, resonates as a symbol of Florence and of Italy as a whole. Get lost in a Neoclassic world, a journey back in time through historic buildings like Spedale degli Innocenti (Hospital of the Innocents), San Marco church, Basilica della Santissima Annunziata, and natural jewels like the Botanical Gardens.
