We stayed three nights at 1865 Residenza d'epoca and had a truly amazing visit in Florence. When we arrived Cinzia greeted us warmly and took extra time to go over some sites in Florence on a map that she provided to us. She also had...More

It was my husbands birthday and also his first visit to Florence and I was lucky enough to have found Michel and Cinzia's lovingly restored bed and breakfast.

1865 Residenza D'Epoca is a most elegant venue, in a great location, quiet, calm and calming, yet walking distance from major Florentine sites. We stayed for four nights. Our room was beautiful, wonderfully designed. Cinzia, the hostess/owner was simply wonderful. She is a most helpful,...More
Michel was a wonderful host (Cinzia was gone that week). The room was extremely nice, the neighborhood is nice, the breakfast is good, and overall it couldn't be better for the price. There is history to the building that adds extra charm.
Stop and stare at the beauty and symmetry of the Basilica of Santa Croce any time day or night. Unraveling around it are a number of architectural and artistic masterpieces, from the Synagogue to the Central National Library. As a hub for young people, the area gets busy with people who want to have fun: a continuous flow of tourists and locals become animated by songs and dances.

Apologies for the delay in replying. It takes about 20-25 mins from the airport in a taxi. We arrived by train from Venice and it was only a 10 minute ride from the train station. When flying home, it couldn't have been easier - there is a button you press in the hotel and a taxi turned up 10 minutes later. I think it was about €25 with a tip.
I would thoroughly recommend this place.
