This lovely place is in the Saint Ambrogio neighborhood of Florence, an easy 10 min stroll from Piazza Della Republica. The accommodation is absolutely beautiful, spacious and extremely clean. My room looked out over a pretty garden. The restaurants and pastecceria’s around St Ambrogio are...More
This was easily one of the best hotel experiences I've ever had (and that list includes the Four Seasons). This family-run boutique hotel consistently went above and beyond my expectations. The service was exemplary. The rooms are very large and luxurious. The family-style complimentary breakfast...More
After a long flight and taxi ride to 1865 Residenza, we were warmly greeted by Michel, who was so accommodating and gracious. The room was perfect; overlooking the garden, in a beautiful setting. The breakfast/common area was beautiful as well, with everything a visitor could...More

Stop and stare at the beauty and symmetry of the Basilica of Santa Croce any time day or night. Unraveling around it are a number of architectural and artistic masterpieces, from the Synagogue to the Central National Library. As a hub for young people, the area gets busy with people who want to have fun: a continuous flow of tourists and locals become animated by songs and dances.

Apologies for the delay in replying. It takes about 20-25 mins from the airport in a taxi. We arrived by train from Venice and it was only a 10 minute ride from the train station. When flying home, it couldn't have been easier - there is a button you press in the hotel and a taxi turned up 10 minutes later. I think it was about €25 with a tip.
I would thoroughly recommend this place.
