When we arrived at Il Guelfo Bianco, we were greeted by a very friendly man at reception who checked us in very efficiently and provided us with a map of Florence and he highlighted the best places to see. He gave us directions to our room and said "Your room is up to the sky" - meaning top floor. We...

Our family of five recently returned from our trip to Europe which included Florence and we loved Il Guelfo Bianco hotel. Because we were traveling with a larger group it was cheaper to stay in one of the two bedroom apartments in the hotel than renting two or three separate rooms. Our apartment unit included two bedrooms and two bathrooms,...

If you are looking for a hotel in a great location Il Guelfo Bianco is IT!! This is a very cozy and quiet hotel located on the main street called Via Cavour. Walk out the door, turn left and a few blocks later you are at the Accademia. Turn right, walk a ways and you will be right at the...

I 'vetted' all our Hotels/B&B's through Trip Advisor for our 2 week trip through Italy and was never disappointed! Il Guelfo Bianco was particularly delightful because of it's extremely pleasant staff as well as terrific location and wonderful breakfast. Try their cafe for lunch...it's delicious and again, staffed with out going, pleasant waiters. You are in the heart of the...

My husband and I stayed at Il Guelfo Bianco in Florence, Italy for 3 nights. The hotel is conveniently located to the train station - less than a 5-minute walk. Also close by to many restaurants and shops. A beautiful 30-minute walk to St-Mark's Square allowing visitors to see the many restaurants and shops along the way. Hotel is overall...

We had a lovely four night stay at Il Guelfo Bianco. The owners take great pride in maintaining the property and taking care of guests. This is a small hotel, without a lot of public spaces, but it certainly met our needs. We walked easily to all the major sights (Academy is three minutes away, Duomo five) and walked to...

... my partner was really unhappy with the room. We visited Firenze during a period of warmer than usual weather, the A/C in the room was rather weak, and the A/C runs only when the key is inserted (i.e., when we're in the room). So every day we returned to the room it was hot and took a while to...

Cozy hotel with nice rooms (particularly for the price). Small central courtyard adds a nice Tuscan feel. Great location to primary historical sights. Friendly and accommodating staff. Adjoining cafe was wonderful and reasonable... friendly service here too.

Our hotel is right in the city center, between Piazza Duomo and Piazza San Marco , few steps away from Accademia (the museum where you can see the famous DAVID by Michelangelo). It's housed in two late 15th century building next each other. All rooms are different in size and position - executive rooms have a standard size - superior rooms are larger - de luxe and junior suite are very large with a sitting area. All rooms have triple glasses and double windows. WI/FI available in all the rooms and the drawing rooms and it's free of charge if you have your own laptop or i-phone or i-pad. Bistrot restaurant next door "IL DESCO" open every day (12 till 10,30 pm but on Sunday it closes at 3,00 pm) with good menu' all day long (many organic products directly by the owner's farm. ... more   less
