The Hotel Boccaccio is in the heart of the historic city centre, a stone's throw from the railway station, from Piazza Duomo and from the Church of Santa Maria Novella. The extremely recent and diligent re-structuring, valorized by the original Carrara marble, has made the presence of more modern comforts possible harmoniously combined with the authentic Florentine style. Elevator, internet point, garage.

Stayed here with a group of friends on our way to the Italy v Scotland rugby match in Rome. Firstly the location is perfect as it’s only a few minutes walk from the railway station. The management and staff are all very friendly and helpful. The rooms are really nice and WiFi free. The breakfast is served in the next door attached Bistro and was pretty good. The cost of the room for 2 days was very reasonable. The hotel is close to transport links but is very walkable to the tourist attractions. Only small minus was restaurant recommendation (Tratoria al Trebbiano) which was good fun with a larger than life owner but the famed T-bone steaks and other meals served were not very good.

I picked this hotel for proximity to the station, as we were arriving by airport tram and leaving by train. It proved a very good choice.
We had two rooms. The single was quite small, the twin very generous, although it's clear from the floor plan that room sizes do vary quite a lot. Rooms at the front of the hotel (typically 01-04 on each floor) will be noisy because they overlook a busy junction.
Both bathrooms were decent although my shower seemed to have only one temperature setting - scalding. I reported it and hope it will have been fixed. The rooms had plenty of storage space, a mini fridge and very effective aircon which we appreciated in the July heat.
Breakfast was served at the adjoining coffee bar. The Italians don't make a big deal of breakfast so the selection was fairly limited but tasty, and the hot drinks were excellent.
Very efficient service, although the two receptionists were quite contrasting: one almost excessively friendly, the other rather unsmiling. We were able to leave our luggage until it was time to catch the train and in general nothing seemed like too much trouble.
About 10 minutes' walk into the city centre, five minutes from the river, a stone's throw from the train and bus stations, and close to the Unita square where some of the walking tours start. There's a small supermarket across the road and a few restaurants nearby.

I am very excited to write this review of this hidden gem in Florence, the Hotel Boccaccio. I have so many great things to say about this hotel, and it all starts with Elis. He was so welcoming, friendly, and helpful. Check-in was wonderful. After checking us in 3 hours early, taking our morning breakfast order, and getting us our keys, he gave us a map and proceeded to outline all the places we should visit during our 1 day stay. He really took his time and served as a wonderful tour guide. Then he took us next door to the attached cafe and gave us a welcome drink. In the evening (he worked day and night), we asked if could eat our takeout dinner in the lobby area and instead he opened up the cafe (it's still closed due to Covid) and said we could eat there. Wonderful! In the morning, we came down for breakfast, and he had it all prepared fo us in the cafe at the same table we had dinner! He even took the time to talk to us over breakfast.
The hotel, for us, was in a great location. It was a couple of blocks from where we dropped off our rental car and a block from the train station which we would use the next day. So for transportation options, it was perfect. Now, to be honest, the area directly around the hotel may not seem the best, so you should know that going in (it's near the train station in a big city, so this is to be expected). But it only takes 2 or 3 blocks of walking and you are in the heart of Florence! Our room was pretty nice, with a fantastic AC unit that kept the room cool on a hot, steamy Florence summer day.

I was in Florence for two nights before going to Tuscany for a 10 day Wellness Retrea & was travelling alone. I wanted a hotel that was easy to get to from the airport & within walking distance of the historic center Hotel Boccaccio did not disappoint.

A less than 5 minute easy walk from the tram stop & I was in the lobby. Not only is the tram an easy way to get into Florence from the Peretola Airport it is a very affordable 1.50 euro.

I was warmly greeted & welcomed by Elby who immediately provided me with a map of the city highlighting the sights to see. Very friendly & seemed to genuinely care about the hotel guests.

My room was clean, the bed comfortable, good shower & had a/c....a bonus! Most importantly, as a woman travelling alone I felt very safe here.

Even though the area itself feels & looks a bit sketchy at first glance, I would have no qualms about staying here again & highly recommend the Hotel Boccaccio.

Hotel has a good location, especially from the train station. Lots of restaurants close by. Breakfast had the best apricot croissant I have ever had and the cappuccino’s were excellent! Breakfast room staff could be a bit more attentive in keeping things replenished, particularly the cutlery. Rooms need a bit of “love” and some attention to detail but bed was comfortable and room was clean. They have a nice little patio on the 2nd floor but unfortunately it looks more like a construction zone. Overall our room could have used some updates, perhaps now that they have completed the outside they will work on the inside.

We enjoyed our stay at the Boccaccio. It's a small local hotel, with an excellent location. It is just a few minutes walk from the train station.

The room and bathroom are clean and are deorated with an old world charm to it. The bathroom is small compared to what I'd expect in a typical hotel room.
Our room opened up to a terrace, it was nice to sit there early morning just to get some fresh air. They provide very nice quaint toiletries as well.

The staff is friendly and helpful.

The breakfast is from the next door cafe, there's direct acess from inside the hotel to this cafe. Due to covid, we had to fill out a form to select from a list what all we'd want for breakfast and time at which we'd liek to have breakfast. The hostess in the cafe got everything right!

Overall, it's a very good hotel for the price.

Very nice hotel with quality rooms and bed near the train station. Great value for money. The bathroom is typical small European size but everything functioned well. We were on the first floor ( first above ground level) and it had a small terrace.

The breakfast at the adjoining bar was very good and the staff there was wonderful.

It was convenient for us to be close to the train station and just walk there with our suitcases. 5 minutes or less. Then we didn't mind the 10-15 minutes daily walk to most historic sites and museums and still had the short walk to the train station for day trips to Pisa, Lucca and Siena.

Highly recommended.

First and foremost the staff that serve breakfast are The Best. It is a basic help yourself breakfast, but the staff make great cappuccino, they are welcoming, friendly, exceptional customer service. They even remember your name, and room number. Hotel is fortunate to have them on staff. They truly made our stay memorable.
Hotel itself is basic, rooms are dark, and can be noisy. If you mind noise this is not the hotel for you. Close to the train, easy to walk. In room safe is a little tricky, but the staff will assist. Front desk staff are friendly, they will always greet you and try to answer questions. They do have a sister tour company, they definitely promote these day trips. But the train station is so close, easy to get around on your own. Staff offered good recommendations for dining,
Really no hotel lobby, that space is used for luggage storage.

Great location and even greater services! I had a late check in and Elis at the front desk was most welcoming and friendly. I felt like I was visiting a friend! I had a single room and it was smallish as expected but it was extremely clean, comfortable and well appointed. Bed was comfortable, bathroom clean and shower pressure was great. Thankfully the air conditioning worked perfectly as outside temperature was hot! Elis gave excellent restaurant recommendation and I had a very delicious Tuscan dinner! The hotel generously held my luggage for 12hours after I checked out and it was very much appreciated. Hotel Boccaccio has it all - great location, clean & comfortable room and most importantly, excellent services by Elis! I will stay here again when I return to Florence in the future! Thanks Elis!
