The hotel has a great location and the staff is very helpful. Everyone speaks English, the rooms are comfortable and clean. The breakfast is pretty basic, they could do something about that "coffee" because it's terrible. Anyway the fact that it's so close to the center makes it all worth it. Also the hotel is among the ones agreed with...

Our tour group of high school students, I stayed here for two nights. We were a small group, but there was another larger group there. If I were traveling on my own, I probably would avoid hotels that cater to student groups. That having been said, the room was clean and comfortable. I was apprehensive after reading some reviews, but...

For a relatively cheap price you get a lot of great benefits, a great location, great service, two rooftop terraces with a bar on one that's open late with a view of the Basilica. The rooms are spacious and the beds comfortable. Will be there again.

They gave us free wifi, just ask. Breakfast was ok other wise it was a 4 star hotel for Europe. They cut the AC off as of the 15th of Nov like they do in this part of Europe so it was a little warm. Roof top view was ok if you liked looking at the top of the Duomo....

Was very disapointed with this hotel, booked through the internet pictures looked nice but reality did is different - the room was very small for the price that we paid, needed dyi (walls, sealing damaged, etc), very dark, tv very old and not working - it was imposible to stay so we raised this to reseption and have been moved...

BUT, not a good hotel really. Choose a back room. Front rooms on road and noisy. I changed to a back room and it was quiet with a lovely bath. Pay extra for WiFi. Quite a large hotel (many rooms)0which is not obvious from the front. Staff okay. Few mins walk to Galleries Academia (David), and the magnificent Duomo.

Frustrating hotel... everything is extra. The a/c is controlled from the front desk, the WiFi is 10€ a day, the breakfast was awful. I don't expect much in the summer but a cool room and free WiFi (an essential service) for $150/night is a no brainer.

The location is excellent and literally only 3 minutes walk from the Duomo. It's convenience and value has lifted the rating as the hotel has minimal facilities although what they had was more than satisfactory for a couple of nights. Highly recommended!!

So many things wrong with this hotel I don't know where to start. First of all, in today's modern age to have to pay for wifi on top of the price of the room is ridiculous. After spending all day traveling, we went up to our room in the afternoon to relax, we couldn't believe how much construction was going...

Rooms are clean and fairly comfortable. Breakfast is mediocre, so go elsewhere for something delicious. If your prime desire is to be close to the Duomo, restaurants and shopping, then this hotel is for you. Don't expect luxury, but who goes to Florence to spend much time in their hotel room?

Staying in Duomo

Neighbourhood Profile
Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
