Over the past twenty-five years, traveling as a consultant, I have stayed in over 300 hotels encompassing over 2000 nights' stay. At Marriott Hotels alone, I earned over three million points. Thus, I have the perspective to write this review. The Hotel Brunelleschi in Florence is quite simply, perfect. It is perfect in every aspect. The rooms are comfortable, the...

A superb deal booked through Travelzoo brought us to this wonderful hotel right in the centre of Florence so no distance from everything we wanted to see and do. Wonderful, welcoming staff who couldn't do enough to make our stay a very pleasant one indeed.

I recently returned from a short stay at this hotel. I travelled with my husband to celebrate our wedding anniversary. I chose this hotel after reading the good reviews on Trip Advisor. It was as nice as I expected, although as previously stated the room was quite small, and the view was just onto the main street below. Our room...

I'm not sure why this hotel doesn't have a 5-star rating. It is first class in location, service and decor. It is located in a quite plaza with little foot traffic right between the Duomo and the Ufizzi. The breakfast buffet was incredible. My room had high ceilings, stairs down to the maon sleeping area and modern finishings. I would...

Just a beautiful hotel centrally located in a small, quiet plaza. You are five minutes from the Duomo and less than 10 minutes to the Ponte Vecchio. You can get to almost any attraction or restaurant in the city with a ten euro taxi ride or by walking less than 15 minutes including the train station. Our "standard" room did...

This hotel is in a good location for visiting Milan as it is just 5 minutes from the Duomo, on the other side from the shopping and tourist centers. This should be 5*. Fantastic hotel, friendly, lovely staff. Really clean, beautiful decor, no complaints at all. Spoilt us on our actual anniversary. Staying in Duomo

Neighbourhood Profile
Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
