Centrally located hostel, perfect for sightseeing. It's less than a block away from the Doumo and 2 blocks away from Academia Gallery. Breakfast is included and it is just so-so. I wish they at least change the type of bread, jam, cereals on a regular basis. Just to have variety especially for long staying guest. There's a common kitchen but...

And for the price wow!! The location is vibrant and very practical, it's clean and comfortable and not very far from the train station. I would definitely recommend it for the price! My friends were skeptical about staying in a hostel and were very surprised by how clean and fun the stay was.

Location: This hostel in a min away from the Santa Maria Del Fiore, 3-4 min from Accademia Gallery, and San Marcos Piazza, and about 10min walk from train station along one straight route until Santa Maria Cathedral. So, in short all attractions are within 2-3k radius. Hostel: Good features: Hostel is rightly priced for about 40 euros/night, given the location....

The first hostel I stayed in and was pretty good. Friendly and helpful staff. Lots of communal spaces. Decent rooms and comfortable. Good bathrooms. Generally a good but not exceptional hostel. Big plus is the location. Florence isnt huge so location isnt a big issue but this place is in a great spot. Right in the middle of everything.

The hostel is on the first floor of a courtyarded building located on a side street beside the Duomo. Its location is perfect for a visit to Florence and the rates are very competitive. The hostel was busy putting some pressure on the bathrooms in the morning but if you are an early riser you can get around this. The...

Best of this hostel was its location, just a few meters from Duomo Square and Academy. There's also recepcionist 24 h. Breakfast was good with juice, cereals, cookies and tea. Some rooms have their own toilet. Free pc and good staff, very helpful. It is quite clean considering is a hostel, they provide free towel and make your bed everyday,...

I stayed at the Academy Hostel for 2 nights in September. Location wise, this hostel was great as it was right next to the Duomo and easily walkable distance to all the major sights and galleries. Other than location, there is nothing else to recommend this hostel. It clearly states that this is not a party hostel, which is why...

This hostel is far better than some hotels I have stayed in! It is absolutely spotless from floor to ceiling, this makes a much more comfortable stay. Rooms are great, they are laid out with privacy screens and individual bedside tables. Air conditioning was fantastic, room was a great temperature given how hot Florence is in the summer. Bathrooms again...

Short walk from the train station, right beside the Duomo and set between the Duomo, Galleria Academia and Piazza San Lorenzo. Plenty of great restaurants nearby, very quiet locations and incredibly helpful and friendly staff. There's free wifi in the common areas. Most attractions are less than 15 mins walk away from the hostel. Prices are decent, but I'd really...

Staying in Duomo

Neighbourhood Profile
Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
