Had the room with window on the inside courtyard/shaft. No view and full of pigeon droppings if you open it. Appart from that, everything was excellent. Breakfast was good with a breathtaking view of the surrounding valley. Well worth it!

We were wary of staying in Cortona, having heard that it was overrun by "Under The Tuscan Sun" fans, but it wasn't! Our hotel, just off the piazza, was very charming and I'm sure we had the best room - on the third floor with a window overlooking all of Tuscany! We were so thrilled with the views - at...

Three of us stayed for one night at Hotel Italia in Cortona in October. I would highly recommend the hotel. Spacious rooms, updated bathrooms, friendly service, and lovely breakfast (pastries, fruit, yogurt, cheese, meat, juice, coffee, tea) in upper floor breakfast room with view of valley. Hotel staff were especially accommodating to change our reservation with short notice when one...

Small and warm, 3 rooms have unparalled views of the valley, they cost a little more, very little, but are worth a million! the rooms are clean, small and unpretentious, but who is going to be there much, except for the view, i looked out that window all night long. the staff will bend over backwards for you, make you...

not the fanciest hotel in cortona, but i totally love its rustic simple style, and i have been there twice with both times an excellent experience. i totally recommend it. also on our first trip they were extremely helpful, beyond the call of duty. (we had a car packed with luggage and it was raining, and the street is scary-narrow,...

We stayed three nights at this charming hotel just steps away from the town center. Helpful, friendly staff, comfortable room and amazing view from the breakfast room. We loved our beautiful windows that opened on to the street. Great place. We will come back.

My wife's favourite hotel of the trip. Lovely mix of old building but modern decor and facilities. Our room dad no view, but it's in a walled twown - the room itself was charming. The view from the breakfast room was great (except we had mist) we found staff very approachable and frendly too over our 2 night stay

...as schoolteachers are supposed to have been accustomed to say. Cortona is a lovely Tuscan village now given over almost entirely to tourism and expats, it seems. This makes it essential for services to cater for non-locals. Yes, the staff are pleasant and speak English; but No, they seem to know little about the locality with which to inform guests....

Dear Mr Tom, thank you for your feed back about your stay at Hotel Italia. All our staff live in Cortona ( which is a small town), so it is strange to read that you could not have any information about the town or what to do. But it can be that you were looking for something particular for which...

Good price, great room, breakfast something else and amazing view. Second trip to Cortona and can't wait for the next time. October a great month, still warm but quiet. Cooking class at Ristorante Ambrosia highlight. Walking the Stations of the Cross close second. Gelati late evening out walking a new experience. Everyone so friendly.
