Unfortunately the hotel was booked and we could not extend our stay. We won't make that mistake again. Had intended for a 2 day, one night Cortona day trip from Florence and we just fell in love with this place. The grounds, the room (we had a 2 bdrm suite), the staff, the pool... Glorious. 1 mile walk from train...

We've just had a lovely 4 night stay at this hotel, junior suite room was huge and very clean. Pool was lovely, our daughter loved it. We only have one minor complaint, the breakfast was pretty poor with not an awful lot of choice. And the girls who worked in the breakfast area, one in particular, were not very friendly,...

This was the 5th time we've visit Il Melone. (Over 10 years) and again it was fantastic. Very friendly staff. Helpful and kind. Fantastic pool. It's big and clean and very peaceful. Never too crowded. Even in high season. Breakfast is perfect. Fresh fruit and lovely cheese and wonderful coffee for me. The children loved it. Every year the restaurant...

This hotel doesn't deserve its 4 stars: - the reception is closed between midnight and 7 am - the description of the room is inappropriate (eg. see attached "garden view") - tiny, shabby bathroom, washed out towels Moreover: - zero charm - no mosquito net on the windows - staff is hardly friendly nor helpful

We stayed here for another week as we did last year. This time in another apartment. This year they placed airconditioning in every apartment, very good! The bed in this apartment was not good and after complaining no real solution provided, otherwise it would be 5 stars. Pool is great again. As is the breakfast

Stayed at the Borgo il Melone for 3 nights in August, what a beautiful setting and such a relaxing atmosphere....the grounds and pool area are pristine, the staff are very welcoming and friendly. We ate in the Restaurant on our first night and although the menu is limited, all dishes were excellent. The Hotel is situated about 5 minutes from...

This is a delightful hotel on the outskirts of Cortona before the climb up the winding roads to the town centre. The place is beautifully clean, the reception was extremely well run and the staff could not have been more helpful. The rooms were comfortable, clean and well maintained and serviced. The pool was large, clean and with good facilities...

Borgo il Melone is beautiful! Located in the tuscan country side, a stone's throw away from Cortona (10 minute drive). Travelling with a group of 8 we booked 2 executive suites and no one was disappointed. The "rooms" were actually large villas, one which was spread out over 2 stories which could have housed us all. The grounds are beautiful,...

Il Melone is a perfect place for couples (with or without children). Stay besides a 2,500 years-old' city, in a stone built hotel, with a wonderful swimming pool, calm environment and fantastic food... It's fantastic! (Ah! You can spend some minutes with the owner "Carlo" to learn interesting facts about the history of the hotel and the city). Everyone speaks...

Borgo il Melone is a beautiful hotel just outside Cortona - you can drive up to the old town and be parked in about 5 minutes. It's also in a good location to quickly get on to the major roads around Tuscany and Umbria. The grounds of the hotel are beautiful and create a very good first impression when you...
