The typical Tuscan villa which dates back to the 17th century was the home of the famous poet Antonio Guadagnoli. Now completely restored and transformed into a countryside Relais, it is part of the prestigious chain Relais & Châteaux, which exuberates the art of hospitality. In the restaurant, in the kitchen, at the reception, dedicated to taking care of the needs of our guests ,we are proud to offer everyday our availability and our specialties, improving them continuously. The art of refining quality is achieved by caring about details that make a difference. An ideal setting for those who love the beauty of the countryside, the atmosphere of the Relais is quaint with characteristic old-fashioned Tuscan charm. The twenty-two rooms are elegantly furnished-each unique in color and décor and reflecting the classic, refined style of important Tuscan homes. A few rooms are in the antique villa, some attached to the villa’s chapel and others in the cottage. All share the view of the magical landscape of the Cortonese countryside and are fully furbished with every modern comfort.La THESAN ETRUSCAN SPA has the goal of reawakening all of your senses through the harmony of the environment and the flavours and tastes of Tuscany. The Etruscan Thesan Spa guides you to discover the true relaxation, with a unique and unrepeatable involving all five senses. Staying with us will leave you with everlasting memories. The restaurant is on two floors with a glass and wrought-iron conservatory, overlooking the outside dining terrace with its ancient fishpond and rose-clad pergola. The cooking, which is personally supervised by Silvia, with the help of the head Chef Richard Titi, has succeeded in creating new temptations, using original and traditional recipes to create a marvelous cuisineaccompanied by great wines. “Il Falconiere” is situated in a quiet, elevated, rural location amid vineyards and olive groves. It enjoys enviable views of the Val di Chiana to the west, and Cortona, the ancient Etruscan hill town just three kilometers to the south. The Relais is ideally located for short trips to some of the most famous art cities of central Italy, such as Arezzo, Perugia, Siena, Florence and Assisi, all within in an hour’s drive away.

Il Falconiere Relais & Spa is celebrated for its beautifully appointed and spacious rooms, with guests often noting the peaceful views that contribute to the hotel's overall charming and serene atmosphere. The hotel's amenities, including a spa, pool, and its own vineyard, are frequently lauded, as is the exquisite dining set amidst scenic grounds.
While the service is generally praised for its meticulousness and warmth, some visitors have experienced delays in the restaurant. Although the resort is considered a luxurious investment, it is deemed well worth it for the quality of experience provided.

Detailed Reviews
Not many places combine luxury and authenticity as well as Il Falconiere. I felt transported back to the 18th century when I went to my room, yet only in a positive way, as I certainly did not want for comfort. The grounds, gardens, and view are all beautiful, and service is friendly and attentive. Also, the parking lot is very spacious, which was a relief after negotiating the narrow walled road leading to the property, where meeting oncoming vehicles, or even making a turn, can involve considerable reversing and maneuvering. Good yet reasonably priced wines made at the property can be purchased at the reception desk.

We just returned from a 5 day stay at Il Falconiere and our experience was beyond expectation. We stayed in a beautiful junior suite in the stone annex on the hill with a large private terrace overlooking the vineyards and the valley. Just lovely. The food at the restaurant was exceptional and inventive and breakfast every morning was delicious. The atmosphere on the property is peaceful and quiet and it is obvious much thought is put into every detail at every turn. We especially enjoyed the cooking classes with talented Chef Sylvia and her patient assistant Fabrizio. The classes were well thought-out and so much fun! The menu each day varied so that we came home with lots of new recipes and techniques. The only thing that could have improved our stay was if we had driven our own car. Visiting Cortona is a 20 euro (each way) taxi ride but arranging a ride to town or the train station was no problem. This property is a gem. We will be back!

We found a deal on Travelzoo that included cooking classes with the Michelin star chef, Sylvia and we were extremely impressed.
The cooking classes were so much fun and the food is delicious. Sylvia is a wonderful teacher, and the atmosphere of the villa is magical.
It is set in the Tuscan hillside not far from a mountain top town called Cortona.
The rooms are charming, and the property was stunning! Views of the vineyard and valleys filled with sunflowers.
The staff was warm and accommodating. We had a WiFi issue when we arrived, which was quickly fixed.
We loved the huge metal bathtub in our room, and going for leisurely strolls around the property.
The spa was good, not great, though that was our only mind complaint. Otherwise, we would absolutely return and would highly recommend staying and cooking here.

My husband and I have just spent one week at Il Falconiere. Our stay was fabulous! The accommodation, we had a suite with a balcony, was well appointed, comfortable and clean. We appreciated the personal service and the dedication of all the staff including reception, the cleaners and the ground staff who were all very pleasant, attentive and helpful. They were all very proud of their establishment. We undertook a cooking class with Silvia, which I would highly recommend and had dinner (degustation menu) in the restaurant which was thoroughly enjoyed. Breakfast in the morning was plentiful and set in a beautiful part of the complex. We also had a lovely massage in the Spa, after a long day visiting local villages. We only stayed a week but would have stayed a few days longer if our itinerary had allowed. All in all I would say we had a fabulous stay and would not hesitate to return again. Thank you Silvia and team!

This is the best place we have ever traveled to. Not only is it surrounded by the most beautiful views imaginable it has the kindest staff, quite actually the best food we have ever had (everything from the breakfast, the lunch, and of course the dinner tasting menu with Chef Silvia- she is incredible), the activities on site are so fun and I highly encourage (from the wine tasting tour to the cooking classes with Chef Silvia), the pool views are one of a kind, and the rooms are highly well kept throughout your entire stay. Cannot rave enough about all this place has to offer!!! Within an hour of being here we were already putting this back on our list of a place to come back to for a longer stay. You will not regret your R&R time here that is forsure! Can’t wait for our next stay!

we went here to have dinner at starred restaurant during a weekend.
Place ins in tuscanian country, with a lot of fields and trees around.
Staff is very gentle
Plus
care for small (useful) details:
USB outlet to charge you iPhone in wall and at the sides of bed
local winery. (and products are remarkable)
site is beautiful and cared
very clean and very recently setup (bath, furniture, painting seem new)
Pool in the middle of garden and a lot of fruti trees
Landscape on Tuscania is great.
details to work on:
- as many starred in Milan, better to use QRCode to show Menus and Breakfast at entrance.
- crew is young and smart, but should get more "stylish" for a top resort.
- wifi is a bit "raw" uses and old insecure protocol and login should work
simple (for example via QRcode or user/pass)
TOP:
Apple Pass (wallet) to login!

We found this place through travel zoo which included 5 nights in a Jr suite, wine tour, wine tasting with lunch and one more lunch. The food was superb. This deal included a breakfast each morning which was excellent, including wine
Il Falconiere is situated in Cortona and has a beautiful scenery. The staff is informative and well trained. The room was beautiful with a walk out porch and upscale bathroom. It is a spa too so we enjoyed the indoor/outdoor hot tub and sauna. I also had a message that was one of my best.
We ordered 15 bottles of wine to be shipped
All in all, a wonderful place and I highly recommend it.

We absolutely adored our stay. The accommodation was just perfect, the location was the most beautiful place we have ever stayed at and this has to be the best way to experience Tuscany with the best food and wine in Tuscany! The spa experience was also just wonderful. The owners made you feel so welcome and we can’t wait to go back! The views were just amazing and with only a short drive into Cortona town from here, the location was perfect for touring Cortona and the other amazing old towns in Tuscany.

My wife and I recently enjoyed a four day stay at Il Falconiere. The location is excellent - isolated so it was quiet but not remote The beautiful town of Cortona is 10 minutes away and there is easy access to highways to reach other areas of Tuscany and Umbria.
The rooms were very nice but the real star of the show is the food. We thoroughly enjoyed the restaurant's tasting menu - one of four offered - and the breakfast buffet was excellent and
comprehensive.

This place is perfect! It’s just far out of Cortona to provide a relaxing countryside getaway. We attended two of Chef Sylvia’s cooking classes, ate at her Michelin-starred restaurant, had a spa treatment and toured the vineyard and winemaking facility. Sylvia and her sous-chefs were patient and informative, explaining the “why” as well as the “how” so that you learned the basics; the cooking classes add so much to the Tuscan experience. All the ingredients are local and seasonal. Everyone at the facility was warm, welcoming, and went out of their way to ensure that our stay was enjoyable. The grounds are covered in rose bushes which were in full bloom when we were there - beautiful! The rooms are scattered throughout the property, ensuring privacy and quiet, with panoramic views of the valley. Be sure to check out the EggCelsior Hotel, the charming chicken coop for the 20 resident hens.
