We stayed at Le Terre at the end of September 2016 for six nights. We had not spent lengthy periods in southern Tuscany before, and found this to be the perfect location from which to see Cortona, Assisi, Orvieto, Montepulciano, Civita di Bagnoreggio, Lago di Trasimeno, Pienza and Siena. Because of its proximity to all of these idyllic spots and... More

This was my first stay in Tuscany, and I don't think it could have been more idyllic. We had the pleasure of staying here for 5 nights, and loved every minute of it. We had a 2 bedroom apartment - it was more like a villa. The rooms were huge, it had a loft area that would have accommodated another... More

We always feel completely relaxed when coming here. Nothing is too much trouble for the people here and it really does feel like a holiday with old friends. Its also perfectly located for everything in Tuscany with easy access to Perugia airport. We will be back many many times!

Our group of two couples spent two nights at the property in June 2016. Beautiful setting in the countryside of Tuscany, complete with swimming pool. We had a double room and a suite - very generous sized rooms, air conditioning worked well. It is a renovated farmhouse with great character. We enjoyed dinner one night, and breakfast both mornings. The... More

Wonderful, private, relaxing, beautiful... all describe this B&B near Cortona. The family who own it are very friendly and assist in any way they can. The setting is amazing, just wander the property to see fantastic views of the Italian Hill Country. We ate dinner there one night and the food was fantastic. If you are looking for a relaxing... This hotel is simply beautiful. The staff are excellent and went well out of their way to assist us. You need to rent a car for the area, as it is a little off the beaten path, and taxis can be a little hard to get if you don't call around ahead of time. BEWARE- when making arrangements, use the... Le Terre dei Cavalieri is a beautiful renovation of an old Tuscan farmhouse set in quintessential Tuscan countryside. The rooms are all very spacious, with high ceilings and beautiful views. They are furnished with pieces which have been lovingly collected and maintained and as well, there are high quality toiletries. We were there in a very quiet pre season with... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Our estate consists of a Farmhouse and a Leopoldina built in the 18th century during the extensive reclamation of the Valdichiana by the Grand Dukes of Tuscan. In times past they belonged to the Order of the Knights of St. Stephen and Malta. The Order used to protect the ancient Grand Ducal Farm of Creti and S. Caterina. The restoration of these buildings required some years of works during which the old "cocciopesto" plaster was restablished, walls with the natural stuccoed pigments were painted and where the structure of the fireplaces wee left unchanged, vaults of the old stable were empty and strengthened, columns which define the countryside were stuccoed.Today we can offer you this unique place to enjoy an intense and unrepeatable experience, making you feel part of an environment where things have remained unchanged and the past seems to be brought back to life everyday in its charm and character. You will be able to dine in a kitchen that used to accommodate over thirty people at a time, sleep in the bedroom converted from the old cattle shed where farmers used to spend sleepless nights watching over their cows delivering their calves, sleep in the "tracantone" bed, sleep in the bedroom located in the Loggia or in the bedroom converted from the old dove-tower, a shelter where doves were bred by farmers. Fireplaces will tell you and remind you of stories that were told gathering around them in the cold winter nights.Walls are decorated with paintings and pictures that will explain you old piece of life and tradition. The best images you will be able to behold will come, as if by magic, from the windows opening onto stunning natural settings such as the dark mountains hanging over Cortona, the sweet and seamless country-side and the noble profile of Cortona.Unique observation, scenes and tastes of true peasant life, a restful and relaxing effect, wealth of details interpreting the sense of place.Looking forward to having you here to discover many more things that words can not describe we would like to make a wish: that knocking on our door you may call beauty by its name. ... more   less
