Looking for a quiet, but close-to-citylife place? Then you find it: Convento di Novole, near the historic city of Cortona. We spent 10 days in this beautiful farmhouse, surrounded by mountains and forest, enjoyed the clean air, the silence, and the pure nature itself. We felt like jumping back in time by decades, or even centuries - imagine, this is... More

I had the pleasure of staying at Novole for 6 weeks in the autumn of 2006 during the olive harvest. Imagine the setting sun over the golden hills of Tuscany covered with olive trees, weighed down with the fruit, the music of the Italian language as friends and family converse, sing and laugh while sitting skillfully in the trees as... My fiance and I stayed at Novole for 1 week, from May 23-May 30 2009. We had already spent 1 week in Italy, in Bologna and Florence. Novole was a welcome change from the hustle and bustle of the city. We arrived to meet our host, Lucio, who was friendly and welcoming. He made us coffee, offered us his own... More

My girlfriend and stayed for a two week period at Novole. It will be difficult to find another place in the world this peaceful. It's like stepping back into time and living the Tuscan life. Lucio, the owner was a wonderful host and brought the wine out in the evening! Great food, people and most of all country!!! Well be... More

My husband and I spent a week at Novole. Our cottage transported us to another time and place. The former convent is nestled in the hills close enough to Cortona to drive in for dinner or sightseeing but a world apart from the tourist crowds. We took long hikes in the hills and woods; picked wild rasberries and read books... More

For some years now as a group of friends we spend a week at Novole in spring. We rent the farmhouse with its delightful small kitchen. We do practical nothing, wander around, maybe go to the market at Cortono on Saturday’s, cooking fancy Italian dinners (we try) with salads from the vegetable garden and drinking Lucio's excellent red wine. If... More

I spent one week in Novole last June. The apartment I rented was the small cottage. It was furnished in a simple way but charming. There were stone walls and wooden ceilings. In front of the bed there was an old fireplace. Anyway the beauty of Novole is in the silence and nature all around. In this place seems that... More

Novole is a very romantic place. It is located in the middle of tuscan hills. Originary was a franciscan convent, then a farm and finally an agritourism. Spending few days in Novole you can feel all the history that has gone into this place. I stayed with my boyfriend in the Chapel. It was a very romantic experience. Stone walls,... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Novole is in the middle of the Tuscan countryside and dates back to 1500 and is near the old Etruscan town of Cortona. It is a former Convent that we have restored with three nice apartments (Convent-Chapel-Cottage), respecting the original style and atmosphere of the buildings. Novole is on the border between Toscana and Umbria, located about 1 and 1/2 hour from Florence, 1 hour from Siena, Perugia and Assisi. ... more   less
