Agata and Salvatore are gracious hosts that have transformed their beautiful historic home into a B&B. They do not speak English, but responded by email through their daughter. We had a triple room with a terrace that has views of Mt Etna and Taormina. The property is literally just off the motorway, and it is about 20 minutes drive to...

Not sure that I expected very much but from the moment you enter the house you are impressed. It is full of artistic sculptures and pictures. Our room was a delight with a private balcony looking towards Etna. The breakfast was varied, tasteful and filling. Being able to walk - 15 minutes - to a good beach was appreciated. No...

My fiancé and I have just come back from spending 8 nights at Villa Chiarenza and we can't stop talking about how much we enjoyed our stay at this beautiful place. The hotel is just off the autostrada but it quite peaceful and the perfect hub if you want to explore more of east Sicily by car - very secure...

My family and I recently returned from a two week trip to Sicily and Italy, which included a four night stay at Villa Chiarenza. Looking back, our stay at the Villa was clearly the highlight of the trip. As others have said, it is tucked into a nondescript area just off the autostrada. However, once you enter the property, you...

Grazie mille, a presto!...

The villa's location just off the motorway up through a small estate may look a ilttle disappointing but once inside the character of the property oozes charm and old style elegance. the villa is full of antiques and curios and the garden has views of Etna and plenty of seating. the rooms are large with modern ensuite and the beds...

House is beautiful; feels like a museum but relaxed and comfortable as well. Spotlessly clean.Spacious. Lovely large grounds. Views of Mt Etna. Parking on premesis. Near the lovely beach town of Giardini Naxos. Ten minute drive to central...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Built in a typical Sicilian Baroque style, this 18th-century villa has completely been restored, with the greatest care and attention being paid to the finest details. The villa has a spacious garden (2000 square metres), embellished with a large Caltagirone vase collection with several cacti-plants, which the hostess takes care of. There are corners in the shade of pines, eucalypti and citrus-groves in which you can enjoy a relaxing moment and dedicate yourself to reading your favourite books. Furnished with antiques, the villa, formerly the Domenicians' summer residence, is now an elegant and spacious place to spend a relaxing Mediterranean break. ... more   less

“Three rooms have balconies and views of the garden and Etna. All ensuite”

“The family room, which is built into the roof space of the house is spacious. It has sloping ceilings, which aren't a particular problem, and several beds if you need more than one. It also has a lovely terrace, with excellent views to Taormina on the one side, and Etna on the other. I imagine the room might get hot in the summer, as there's no insulation on the underside of the roof - just a timber ceiling below the roof tiles. There are, however, 2 wall-hung air conditioners in the room, which are probably more than adequate.”
