Family-ownwd and run hotel with great attention to detail by owner and host, Mauro, this hotel offers a convenient and comfortable base in Taormino, close to but sufficiently far from the main tourist drag to imagine how Taormino might have been during la dolce vita days. Carefully and lovingly restored, this grand old hotel has been in the family for 3...

It's an older place, furnishings a little tired and run down. If it was just that it would be 3 stars, but then there's the view, if you have a room on the back it's a helluva view. Then there's the service. The front desk guy was extremely helpful on things to see, places to eat, places to not eat,...

Location is brilliant, being situated a five minute walk from the Corso Umberto, the main shopping street with its variety of shops and restaurants. Opposite hotel is a bus station where excursions may be booked and buses taken. The wonderful Greek Ampitheatre is a short walk. The proximity of the cable car station to the Taormina beaches is a great...

Hotel Astoria is certainly one of the best options in Taormina: as location in fact it is at ten minutes walking from the hearth of the city, but at the feet of the Greek Theater, and five minutes from the Funivia, the cable car that heads down to Mazzaro and Isola bella beaches. Plus, it is just in front of...

Great view. Breakfast had great rolls, but needed some protein (boiled egg, ham, yogurt). Host was very nice. I particularly appreciate the chest of drawers, and the 3 tiered table in the bathroom. Shower was as tiny as always and the shower head wouldn't move. I would certainly stay here again.

We stayed at this wonderful hotel for two days. Secure parking was provided for our car and the room was great. The most wonderful thing about our stay were the hosts. They could not have been more gracious and provided us with good restaurant choices in Taormina plus directions to Mt. Etna. Would highly recommend this hotel. Bill Bond, Baltimore,...

Location is excellent - across from bus stop, but it's not noisy at all as hotel rooms face the sea. Easy to make day trips and get in from Catania. Within 5 minutes walk to Corsa Umberto. Owner -5* service, warm, friendly and takes time to talk to you with a great sense of humour. We arrived late 945pm having...

Fantastic! Location is within walking distance of the site of of the shopping area. Parking is included. The view from your balcony is amazingly beautiful. Room was good good size and clean. Wi-fi was always available. Breakfast was typical Italian continental. BUT the ultimate fabulousness was getting to know the owner, Mauro( and his wife, Francesca). Mauro served the breakfast...

A good hotel close to all the sights and parking easy to access. Our room had a great sea view and the place was clean. The owner was friendly and gave good recommendations on where to eat in town. Breakfast was adequate but a little sparse on choice and amount. However I woudl definitely recommend the hotel based on price,...

Although this is rated as a 2* hotel the owner is 5*!It is possibly the cleanest hotel I have ever stayed in, the bedrooms are decorated in a typical scililian manner with amazing views, the bathroom is more than adequate, the breakfast is good with great coffee, freshly squeezed OJ and tasty pastries, the small bar downstairs is very reasonable...
