Once you've experience five star luxury, you not only appreciate but look for the little things that justify the higher price. Mazzaró takes service beyond expectations and creates an ultimate VIP experience!
For example, we were asked how we slept when stopping by reception to leave our key before heading out for the day. My husband that while the room was beautiful and comfortable, he found the mattress to be too soft and he woke up with a backache. Within minutes, housekeeping arrived to remove a mattress pad and remake the bed with a firmer mattress. The next morning they checked on his comfort and he felt much better! THAT'S white glove excellence!
As Leaders Club members, we were always seated at the best tables for meals, with lovely views and shade. We received a room upgradefor our son, such a nice surprise!- and delicious welcome gifts.
The breakfast buffet was international and pleased a variety of cultural palates, from those like my husband who just do pastry and coffee (daily fresh baked, smelled heavenly!) to people like me who like protein rich breakfasts of eggs and meat. They customized fresh juice orders on request, and started our days with healthy and delicious options!
One morning I wanted to stay in bed instead of going down for breakfast, so asked my husband to bring me I've of the fresh squeezed juices on his way back from breakfast.
Not only did they insist on bringing it to me themselves- promptly with a warm smile- but they also included a basket of fresh breads and an Eggs Benedict, which they had seen me order on previous mornings! You truly feel seen and special here.
Our view was unmatched and our balcony was huge! It was so gorgeous and comfortable that one evening we didn't go out to dinner as planned, we ordered room service which was brought out to the balcony table and served, popped bottles of wine, listened to the piano player from the bar below as we enjoyed a private meal as the sun set. It was magnificent!
The beach and pool staff were outstanding, umbrellas were spaced for privacy and it was clean and comfortable. Towels were brought quickly and a press of the button brought snack and drink service, they even brought sunscreen upon request.
If I were forced to change anything it would be that the bathroom shower was situated so the the floor didn't get soaking wet while you shower. This has been common at almost every hotel we've stayed in across Italy though, open layouts with partial glass partitions that rarely prevent floor flooding. Mazzaró was better than most, but we still had to lay down multiple towels to mop up part of the floor after showers. Maybe it's us... lol
Separate pools for families and adults only would be magical so both types of travelers could have maximum enjoyment of the facilities. But for the most part, other travelers kept their children from infringing on others, while still allowing them to be kids and have fun.

We stayed at the Mazzaro Palace for 5 glorious nights. What a very special seaside resort this is! Besides the exquisite 5-star accommodations, most notable was the impeccable service which we were graced with across all teams on the property--reception/concierge, restaurant and bar, housekeeping, etc. All colleagues were professional, warm and welcoming and simply lovely just to chat with!
For example, the concierge arranged for a day trip to the top of Mt Etna to tour the volcano and lava runs along with a wine-tasting of the fabulous Etna wines at a mountainside winery. The excursion was seamlessly planned and made for the most memorable day. Additionally, he offered recommendations that were better than what we were requesting, i.e. watching the sunset from a rooftop bar that offered a much better view and guest experience than the location we originally requested his assistance with.
Upon our arrival, we were graciously upgraded to a Junior Suite room at no extra charge. The room was beautifully appointed (much like the entire hotel) and our view was impeccable--so close to the water that we were lulled to sleep at night by the gentle incoming waves. The location of this hotel is on an amazingly intimate, sandy cove which was not overrun with people that were not staying at the 2-3 other properties along this same cove. The breakfast buffet which is part of the room rate was simply BEYOND! Each morning they presented a very wide array of delicious food--anything you could wish for or imagine was offered and the quality was top tier. Among the most delightful was the fresh brioche which you could pair with an assortment of Sicilian-famous granita...the pistachio was my personal favorite!
To head up to the town of Taormina, the cable car was literally a 2 minute walk from the hotel. The ride up was less than 10 minutes; we never waited for more that a few minutes to ride up. This mix of being able to luxuriate down along the sea with such easy access to visit the town (which we did each day), made our visit very relaxing and hassle-free.
Upon our departure, we felt like we had developed very warm and friendly relationships with 5-6 of the colleagues. If ever in Taormina again, we will most definitely stay at the Mazzaro Palace! Even with the stellar service we received, they are committed to continuing to improve in every way.

The days spent here were a dream! The hotel, set in a beautiful bay, is located a stone's throw from the cable car to the center of Taormina (but for those who are fit there is also a ladder that allows you to go up or down in 20/30 minutes). Breakfast is served on a wonderful terrace and offers a wide variety of sweet, savory and Sicilian specialties (I never missed a granita with brioche!). The large room, with terrace, facing the sea and the sound of the waves, always tidy with two daily passages. The beach was very well kept. But what struck me more than this was the kindness and helpfulness, never intrusive or affected, of all the staff. The staff were truly superb, from the front desk, the concierges, the housekeepers, the waiters, the lifeguards. Congratulations indeed: an incredible place!!

Whilst staying at this wonderful hotel located on the crystal clear waters of the picturesque Mazarro Bay, we encountered Franco from the water side team. He was so very helpful in finding us a well located and shady pair of sun lounges, provided water and even cloths to clean our sunglasses.
Whether we were by the pool or by the bay, Franco & his team were always there to help. It couldn’t be easier to order refreshments /snacks/lunch - simply press the buzzer on the umbrella and within a few minutes a server arrives to take your order.
It’s often the small things that make a difference The staff here, (the driveway team, Reception, Concierge, Room Service, Housekeeping. Bar Staff and even the gardener) were all welcoming, warm, friendly and ready to assist in any way.
Food was well presented and delicious with a good variety. Breakfast was extensive, with a well stocked, fresh buffet and also al la carte options. The outdoor dining on the balcony above the bay is the perfect spot for breakfast, lunch and/or dinner. The elevated bar area is adjacent and a nice spot for a drink before or after dinner. (Or anytime). Evening live piano music is very enjoyable too.
Rooms were well appointed, comfortable and very clean .

My husband I stayed at the Mazzaro Sea Palace during our honeymoon in Taormina and could not have been more happy with our time at the hotel! Mazzaro is located on a secluded and absolutely picturesque bay with views to enjoy from your room, at breakfast, the pool and anywhere else you are relaxing during your stay. We purchased the unforgettable welcome with which we had a driver pick us up at the airport and take us to a nearby bay. From the bay, we enjoyed a 30 minute boat ride down the coast of Sicily with complimentary sparkling wine into Mazzaro Bay where we were graciously greeted by Danielo who showed us around the hotel ground - the complimentary Mint Marrakesh served by Francesco was the perfect refresher after our ride in! Our Deluxe Sea View room was clean and nicer than we expected based on the photos from the hotel website - plenty of storage for clothes, double sink bathroom vanity and the balcony was just stunning. The hotel grounds are also gorgeous and well maintained, lined with beautiful flowers to enjoy during breakfast and live music playing on the patio for Apertivo! We loved getting to know the hotel staff including Christian, Federico, Salvo and Domenico who made the best cocktails we had in Taormina! It was hard not to stop by the bar for a drink on your way to the beach or out into town because of their incredibly friendly service. A comfortable and shaded set of beach chairs were reserved for us on a daily basis - Giovanni and the beach staff were always ready to find us the best spot and set up our towels. You can order food and drinks from the hotel with the touch of a button. The proximity of the hotel to the Mazzaro cable car which takes you directly to Curso Umberto made getting to lively downtown Taormina so easy (approx 10 min trip from the hotel to the top)! The concierge was also very helpful to help coordinate ordering cabs as needed and book other activities during our stay. The luxury of the hotel and deeply caring staff made our time here truly unforgettable. We would recommend Mazzaro to anyone visiting Sicily and hope we have the chance to stay again in the future!

A lovely hotel in a beautiful location. Everything was excellent, from check-in to departure. All the staff were helpful and polite, and the food offering very good. As we had a late flight they were good enough to let us use a courtesy room in the afternoon to wash and change before heading to the airport. The location is great, only 2 minutes from the cable car up to Taormina town centre, and the private section of beach makes swimming and sunbathing very relaxed. The only negative was that the wifi was tricky to connect to at times.
If you go make sure to get a room with a sea view.

Taormina was amazing! Such a pretty town. We loved the Mazzaro Sea Palace. The service there was great and we loved our room. Beach was nice and very clean. Plenty of room for all the hotel guests. Pool was small-ish but you really should go into the sea. You must take a cable car up to the town of Taormina. We didn't realize that was a must. Tickets for the cable car are $10 Euros round trip. Short 3 minute ride each way and cable station is within walking distance from the Mazzaro. Mazzaro does have cable car tickets to purchase at the front desk if one would like to purchase them in advance, but they do run out. I will say, the cable cars are little steaming saunas hanging from a hot cable.....Be prepared to sweat if it's over 80 degrees. You can take a cab into town if needed. Concierge was great with booking meals and offering excursions. Staff was warm and friendly! Our ocean view room was clean and well appointed. Housekeeping does a great job of cleaning the room...a little too good. Every time they would come in they would rearrange everything. In Taormina lunch or dinner at Trattoria Le Botte (lot's of famous people have been there) and one must get granita from Bam Bar, arancino (rice balls) from da Christina, lunch or dinner at Trattoria Don Ciccio and dinner at Il Gabbiano with a beautiful view of Isola Bella. Dinner at the hotel's restaurant Armonia was very good. Definitely would stay here again!

Hi,
Taormina is a very lovely costal town and an amazing Greek amphitheatre right inside the town ... We went on the Godfather tour which took us up into the mountains to see the bar and church which was lovely but in hindsight I should have rented a car and done it all myself ... The roads can be quite narrow in parts but with you guys driving on the same side of the road it would be easier for you .. our hotel had amazing views of the coast which we loved and I think would be a great base to travel up the coast both ways ..
As I said in my review , my only reservation was how expensive everything was ! I am kind of conditioned to it to an extent being in London but in comparison to how they live , I just found that it did take advantage of the tourists , especially in the town which is very Touristy... We was told of a nice restaurant in the town which we booked in advance and it came to 240 euros with only 1 bottle of local wine ...
The buses are cheap but cabs are expensive...
There are more places to choose from in the Taormina area.
