This hotel is huge, old, historical, and well placed in the city. There are many things to like about it, i'll tell you what we didn't like: it's so big that you can't get any personal service. For instance, it was raining one evening so we approached the front desk where about 7 people were working. Not one looked at...

This grand hotel, a former monastery, has been one of the world's most spectacular hotels for many years. Don't miss its gardens. Wander through the cloisters. Make sure to extend your stay. There is no other place like it.

This hotel has such a history and it really shows. Large courtyard to relax in, large rooms, and you can really get lost just trying to walk to your room! We really enjoyed our stay here for three lovely days. The breakfast out on the terrace over looking the sea is amazing. The serve is great, and all the staff...

Absolutely gorgeous setting- grounds were amazing- views spectacular - one of the prettiest places we have stayed at. Rooms were ok- nice but not wonderful- our shower trickled water and was probably the worst of the places we stayed at but this could be easily overlooked because of the other attributes. Breakfast terrific. Desk staff unfriendly except for the woman...

I stayed there for a few days and I can say the hotel is beautiful and the people who work there are really friendly and helpful! The view over the sea is breath-taking. Highly recommend it to all considering Taormina.

We stayed here for two nights at the end of our 7-nights in Sicily and this was by far the best hotel (although all the others were 5-star luxury hotels and we loved every one of them!). The fact that the hotel is so steeped in history, being an old monastery, makes it very magical and special. We had a...

This is a very large hotel with long corridors and beautiful gardens. The bedroom was spacious with a small garden, but the furnishings are old fashioned as is the hotel. Breakfast is good with a wide choice but we found the restaurant over priced and "stuffy" for lunch or dinner. There is also a "2 star Michelin" restaurant which we...

My husband and I have just returned from a short break and had a wonderful time at the San Domenico Palace. Other reviewers mention that the hotel is in need of refurbishment but I disagree - the hotel is old and the fact that some parts are a little worn and flaky just adds to its charm. You get a...

This was the third and last hotel of our recent travels in Sicily, we saved the best till last we thought.......but unfortunately we didnt! Sadly this was our least favourite of the three hotels and the most expensive. Without doubt the position of this hotel is outstanding and the historical attachement without question. However once a guest has chosen to...
