We had a wonderful time as guests of La Frescura. Beautiful place. Family couldn't be nicer and couldn't do enough. A space to relax and unwind. Multi language library to ease the mind. Special thanks and love to Franca. Multa gratcia.

Excellent choice for a romantic or family holiday. Ancient nicely restaurated building surrounded by orange, lemon and mandarine orchards. Views of the etna. The owners a very friendly elderly couple. Excellent breakfast with local produce. 2 good natured dogs to play with your kids. This is a little paradise.

Our stay was fine here. The rooms themselves are not so nice, very sparse with a sort of strange bathroom situation (a shower that is in the middle of the room and drains all over the floor). Breakfast is not included. Overall, a serviceable base for Syracuse, although it can be somewhat tough to find if you miss the sign...

The farm was very relaxing. We stayed there at the end of our trip and it was quiet and peaceful and there were pretty walking trails. It is a family run place. The staff went out of heir way to make us comfortable and ensure that we had everything we needed. They were helpful with suggestions for sightseeing in the...

Beautiful setting and excellent service. All very clean and made with class. Very tasteful design with attention to detail. A heavenly breakfast served in the morning shade. Just sitting outside looking at the house is therapeutic! Also easy to find. Highly recommended

We felt like we were guests at a friends' home. The owner Franca and his son Giovanni made us feel as part of the family. They leave all the doors open: you can help yourself a glass of wine or whatever, they just trust you will pay. This is just an example of the mood, but the place itself is...

This spot was one of the most beautiful places I've stayed in Italy; it was definitely one of our favorites of the entire trip. It's super romantic, and worth every penny to upgrade to the larger suite with the kitchenette. Giovanni was a wonderful host! Breakfast was so fresh and delicious.

I booked my large family group (we were 11, ages 20 to 81) in La Frescura for a four day stay in May, the start of our Sicilian holiday. Our hostess, Ida, made us feel at home right away and was very helpful with local knowledge and suggestions for great restaurants we would have never found on our own. The...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
La Frescura is an ancient country house dating back to the 17th century. Completely done up in 2007, it is faithful to the architectural characteristics of its ancient origins. The two-story building is immersed in nature and surrounded by twelve hectares of citrus groves. The typical Sicilian "masseria" develops around a courtyard with direct access to the accommodations. The lodges are different from one another, in an ambiance of a simple and minimal country style, with a flair for comfort and attention to detail. All of them are en suite, and some of them self catering. Complement for all of them air conditioner, the kitchen are full service. At disposal for our guest: library (English, Italian, Dutch), common space, panoramic terrace, orange and lemon trees garden, parking, panoramic walking paths, bike rentals, market-garden, touristic information, maps and guidebook. The position represents an ideal compromise between the countryside, sea and city in a very quiet and relaxing environment. 6Km from Siracusa city, nearby the highway, easily accessible the airport, Catania and all the east coast of Sicily! ... more   less
