The facilities are still great. It's a beautiful property with nicely appointed rooms. The problem here is with the staff. Disinterested, disrespectful and indifferent. Except for a helpful front desk staffer (lady), you're on your own. Dining room staff attempt to hurry you along to clean your table for the next meal and make no attempt to be helpful. If...

Do not allow anyone to complain about the helpfulness and professionalism of my staff, a dining room with tables always ready and attentive waiters starting with breakfast, a rich buffet for breakfast and studied the menu for lunch and dinner. We'll continue to pay a nominal charge of € 2 per stay for the towel. Our hotel is surrounded by...

Stayed a week with family. Splendid hotel with friendly staff and beautiful rooms. Arrived just before 2 pm, our rooms were ready so we were quickly checked in with no problem then to dining room for a delicous lunch. The buffet breakfast every morning is good too with many choices. Our rooms were all spacious and clean immediately after breakfast...

Great place to chill out for a few days. Very quiet and isolated from main town which is tiny. also quite far ten euro to old town from here. Anyhow, what a great place to visit, Winston Churchill visited too. The place made me feel like I was stepping into an Agatha Christie movie. There is a fab pool and...

In the first week of June, we travelled with Citalia to Syracuse, and we stayed in this lovely old hotel which has beautiful and peaceful grounds. Our room was very comfortable with a small fridge and a safe, and a balcony with a view. Breakfast was a real treat, and Happy Hour on the terrace is highly recommended! The location...

Location and facilities: We stayed here in May 2013 - we found the situation very fascinating and the building very elegant. It is quite a walk into Ortigia though - no shuttle - less active guests may have to get a taxi to the centre. When we stayed in May the 'solarium' was closed and we did not see a...

Normally downtime at a hotel isn't something you look forward to enjoying. But the Villa, it's verandas and pool, are so beautiful that you have no problem just hanging out there. Our room was beautiful, comfortable and off of one of the large rooftop verandas. We felt completely spoiled. Whether it was happy hour at the Winston Bar or dinner...

We stayed for a week at the Politi and had a memorable time there. The room had all the features we expected with a lovely bathroom, good airconditioning, minibar, safe, balcony and really comfortable beds. As we had a car the big car park was a bonus. It felt like we were walking through history when climbing the magnificent curved...

The staff were overall friendly. No excursions arranged. The hotel is badly located. There is absolutely nothing to do or see in the area. The locality is very dirty. People very unfriendly. Very disappointing. I would not recommend it as a area to visit

Stayed in grand villa politi from 21st to 28th April 2013. Old elegant hotel in need of some updating with great buffet breakfast. Rooms cleaned every day. SYRACUSE is NOT NEW YORK: OFTEN THE DISTANCE BETWEEN A CITY 'AND ANOTHER VILLAGE ARE DIFFICULT TO ACHIEVE. But this is also the charm of Sicily. there is a considerable difference between the old and decadent. The costs of services are the same as any other city. The staff of the ghvp speaks good English and French, we are sorry...
