This is a classic old hotel in the old part of town. Very central to all the sights, markets and port. The hotel has seen its better days and is VERY tired. Poor wifi. The breakfast was only average. The rooms were dark and dreary with poor beds and sheets. Many better options in Palermo.

Little is there that could be improved in this classic hotel. Not hip or fashionable. Just traditional Grand Hotel style. Amenities are top notch and so is the concierge. It is not cheap but value for money is not bad.

The Wagner is a lovely older hotel set in a handy location. Our room was clean and comfortable and the bath was good. The public rooms are lovely. We found in easy to zip around Palermo to visit the sights. Just a block away was a nice collection of restaurants, ranging from inexpensive to not so inexpensive. We ate at... More

We were traveling with a tour company and do not know the price but room 219 was large and comfortable. Curiously, it had a heated towel bar that was never warm. Breakfast was extensive, just about anything you could want. Good service in all respects. Electrical plugs were very loose in the room and it was hard to find one... More

While accommodating the staff, with exception of housekeeping and a waitress are a little grumpy (five star?). They did allow me to check in quite early without a hassle and my room is very nice even though I got a great deal on a pre-paid site. The water pressure is very good, the shower small but better than most I... More

I'd like to be able to give this another half star, as it is not too bad at all. Like much about Palermo it is tired and a little run down, but the staff are excellent. We were very happy with our room which was clean and well tended. Great breakfasts upstairs. The elevator music system was quite alarming as... More

We stayed four nights in a one bedroom suite. On the positive, the interior rooms and hallways are beautiful. Truly magnificent. It feels like you are staying in a palace and the housekeeping staff are very professional. On the negative, the lobby area is not cohesive. It is a series of sitting rooms, albeit well appointed with a small bar... More

We stayed three nights at the Grand Hotel Wagner, on a tour. This is an older palatial hotel with period furniture. There were four floors above the lobby level, with an elevator. Lighting was especially good in the room, unusual for Europe. There were only two available electrical plugs (one was in the bathroom), and the wiring may have been... More

The location of this hotel is very good. You are right in the midst of the city, with easy walking to good restaurants and areas of interest. Rooms are decent size, but the air conditioning really didn't work, so it was often stuffy. We were on the street, so opening the window allowed street noise to disrupt our sleep. Shower... More

Just stayed at the Grand Hotel Wagner for 2 nights in September and was not impressed. it is definitely not a 5 star property. The hotel is in a great location but its common rooms are a little shabby and the main entrance carpet is dirty and worn. Our room was small and the bathroom was tiny with a dangerous... More
