This huge hotel are well situated, nice and clean, have a very good breakfast and the rooms are large and very nice. Off course you'll have to pay extra for this kind of things but WHY does nice hotels like this continue to charge for Internet??? If it would be reasonable priced well,it might be forgiven, but charging sums in...

Although we had to find our way through a pile of garbage (obviously some industrial action prevented its removal) we found our way to the hotel entrance. The building looks much more impressive in the inside than it is showing on the outside. All the rooms are big enough, mostly in 19/20th century style with authentic furniture and updated amenities....

My colleague and I were quite excited to be staying at this hotel and were looking forward to arriving there after a long day on the road but were thoroughly disappointed with almost everything about the place. Very nice hotel located near major shopping street; not close to major tourist attractions. Rooms were clean but the AC did not work and they never fixed it, and one had to pay for internet service. Staff was not unfriendly, average in my opinion. Highlight of our stay was the breakfast.

We stayed just one night at the Excelsior--our wedding night--having transfered from a cheaper hotel to spend our first night as a married couple in more luxurious surroundings. I can't express how wonderful the manager is--when he saw us checking in wearing our wedding clothes, we were upgraded and he personally delivered our bags and a bottle of champagne with...

Upon touching down in Sicily for the first time ever, our driver from the Excelsior Hotel helped us navigate the indifferent employees of Alitalia as they lost our luggage. After an uneventful check-in the driver drove us back to the airport that evening to reclaim our bags. The Excelsior is another of the grand tourist hotels from the late 19th...

In march 2010 we stayed 6 nights in this hotel. As mentioned in other reviews it is a comfortable hotel with rooms of a comfortable size, the breakfast offers everything you like and it is a suitable location even for a longer stay in Catania as we had. The location is about a 10-minute walk to the Dome-square and about...
