Rina Hotel is often celebrated for its prime location near beaches and the old town, a fact that many guests appreciate for the convenience it brings to their stay. While the atmosphere is deemed a bit outdated, the staff's warm and familial demeanor consistently receives positive remarks. Cleanliness is a strong suit, with frequent commendations for daily towel changes and overall tidiness, though some travelers have called out the rooms for being somewhat antiquated and the breakfast for lacking variety. Despite the praise for service and location, opinions on the hotel's value are mixed, with criticisms focusing on the quality of amenities and unexpected costs.

We had a lovely two week relaxing stay at this hotel 1-15 September and the location is ideal. There is a supermarket opposite the hotel and a five minute walk takes you to one of the many beaches in Algherro. The old town is a 25 minute walk away or you can take the bus for 1.50 Euros and they run frequently. The rooms are a little dated and the shower cubicle is very small but the rooms are spotlessly clean and the towels are replaced daily. The staff are attentive especially Gino and Emma in the restaurant and the food is very nice with a varied menu and a special mention for Pepe the night porter who was very friendly and we enjoyed many chats with him. Carlos the manager was extremely helpful and is a credit to the hotel and we would definitely recommend this hotel to others. Only downside was the plastic sunbeds which were very uncomfortable.

Cleaning and towels are changed every day. Breakfast is repetitive, but all the basics are available. Dinner, which was quite tasty and varied, has to be ordered from the pre-selected choices at breakfast. There is a decent supermarket right next to the hotel.
There is a small fridge in the room, no drinking glasses.
Please note that the air conditioning is noisy - however, this did not bother us.
There is a EUR 3 charge for beach towels. On the beach, the use of two beach chairs + a parasol costs €25 per day (€15 for half a day).
The staff were helpful and friendly.

Clean room. Should have a terrace facing south for views and quiet.
A little hard mattresses, shower cabinet scratched, only shower soap and hand soap in the bathroom.
The pool area is nice. Can advantageously wash sunbeds and tables. A lot of noise from the kitchen which has a window facing the pool. This was pointed out, and asked to close the window and turn off music. Okay, okay, the answer was and the noise continued.
Food; we had half board but were so disappointed about dinner especially. Roses for new menu every day (4 retters) but does not help it when it was tasteless, dry, dead cooked vegetables, hard foccatia, dried roasted fish and meat. Breakfast nice but small selection.
Rotten and upset waiters.
Operation can generally take a little in the neck to provide better service and create Gid atmosphere.

Location; it was good. Short distance to the beach, bakery shop, cheeses, wine/beer/meat, olives, etc. Paddelbane m 3 tracks on the other side of the road. Bus stop right v main street below hotel. Easy to get to beautiful old town. Otherwise a nice walk because there is a lot happening along the promenade here.

average hotel, mainly visited by bus tourists. The environment is very noisy. We had a double room with sea view on the third floor. The view was very nice, but the balcony is very small and the room very dark, even through the decor. There are much nicer hotels on the promenade right by the sea for the same price. Breakfast room is also very impersonal, it reverberates very strongly and also that is quite dark because only on the ceiling above are window slots. The breakfast itself includes everything you need, but it is consistently cheapest quality. The scrambled eggs made of egg powder—inedible1 We stayed here only two nights (GsD) and then had breakfast on the second day in a beach cafe on the boardwalk. Conclusion: I don't know where the four stars come from here???Mass handling par excellence. Not for us again. Next time we'll go to La Florida.

Myself and my husband have waited a long time to come to Sardinia. We wanted to stay in a nice hotel. We chose this hotel as it was a 4 star rating and It had its own pool attached to the hotel. We were very disappointed when we arrived. The room was supposed to be a double but it was just two single beds pushed together. The cleaning lady on our floor which the first floor was so good. The shower was made for a very small petite person, not that we were big. The shower head kept coming off. The door in the bathroom wouldn’t open fully. And as for what they called the hairdryer it barely dried my eyebrows let alone my head of hair!!
Breakfast wasn’t great at all, if you’re into a continental breakfast that’s ok , but as an Irish woman I don’t fancy lots of sweet cakes at that hour. You couldn’t get even a poached egg or an omelette.
The photos of the pool are very deceiving, the pool area is smaller than the photos make it out to be. I’d get to the pool most mornings before 9 am. I only had one sun-bed as that’s all I needed, but there were people occupying more sun beds than what they needed. I gave my sun-bed up on one occasion to an elderly lady as she had none as a lot of the beds were taken up with TOWELS for hours and no people. One morning I decided to have a lie in so didn’t make it to the pool until 10am and again all the beds were taken up by towels. I said it to the pool guy but he just shrugged his shoulders at me. I ended up on the beach that I paid €5 for a sun-bed for .That evening I complained to the staff at the desk and her response was practically the same as the pool guys. I asked to speak to management her response was he’s gone home. So I approached him the next evening and his response again was practically the same. I don’t think those responses were good enough for a so called 4 star hotel. Needless to say We will not be back.

Response from BLU HOTELS, Altro at Rina Hotel
Responded 29 July 2022
Dear Customer, Thank you for writing a review about your stay at our facility in Alghero, Rina Hotel. The opinions of our customers are essential to improve the quality and efficiency of our services. We are truly sorry that despite our best efforts to provide you with an experience that met your needs, your stay was not an entirely positive experience for you; however, we feel that we can respond to individual reports. Regarding the structure and the room, they - although not of recent construction - are equipped with all comforts and well maintained, for any need, however, all our staff is always available; if you had wanted a more powerful hairdryer, for example, we would have provided it. Regarding breakfast, it is indeed continental but savory items are always provided to please all palates, we are sorry it was not to your liking anyway. Regarding the pool, we are also sorry if because of the attitude of some Guests you were not able to relax completely; again, let us reassure you that we have already shared your notes internally with the intention of making our Staff even more vigilant (and stricter in enforcing the current rules, which have already been amply and clearly set out regarding occupying sunbeds in the pool). In any case, the photos of our pool are not misleading but absolutely true. Hoping, however, that we will be able to see you again soon at the Rina Hotel or in another of our more than 30 facilities throughout Italy. Sincerely yours.

Where do I start, I booked a two bedroom apartment for myself and family. When we arrived at the hotel I was told they don’t have any two bedroom apartments! When we got to the room all I can say is that it was filthy. A kitchen that had a sink microwave, hob and fridge no tea or coffee making facilities. The bathroom was disgusting. The shower was full of grime and the first day we got there my family member got into the shower and it broke and fell on them. Every time we have a shower the shower head didn’t fit in the holder so it was would swing around the shower, also every time we had shower it was soak the whole bathroom. The mattress are only fit for the skip they were appalling. Our room wasn’t cleaned any day. The bed linen wasn’t changed at all thought the 7 nights stay. The cleaner barely empty the bins and gave us fresh towels. We had to go to the super market to get our own cleaning products to wash the dishes there wasn’t even a cloth or tea towel! I could continue with the review but I think should be enough to deter people from booking this hotel! It’s supposedly a four star it’s not even a two star! Horrible experience after saving hard to book this holiday!!

There are positive and negative aspects. First, the hotel is clean, quiet, very delicious food, especially on Fridays, though for northern Europeans this three-course dinner begins at the time when you otherwise start to think about going to bed, BUT when in Rome, do as the Romans do. The pool is ok, enough pool chairs.
Now, when picking the room, you must be very careful. Sea view room means a room with a tiny window overlooking the sea in the distance. But you can enjoy a beautiful sunset across the roofs of other houses. If you are lucky to get the room in the upper floors. If you want sea view AND balcony, you have to specify it. However, in that case your balcony opens to the noisy street. Take it or leave it!
The hotel has a wonderful service of the letterbox in the foyer, BUT these letters/postcards never arrive their destination. Sad. I sent my friends wonderful cards with beautiful stamps but after 5 months nobody has got them.
The hotel is close to the sea, some 200 metres, BUT it means VERY dirty city beach, smelling of seaweed. Absolute NO-NO. To enjoy the beautiful beaches of Sardinia you must have a car and drive for hours.
Across the street there is a supermarket, but its surroundings are so rubbished. Nothing to do with the hotel, still.
Very popular among the locals.

Dear Customer, thank you for sharing your opinion on our Rina Hotel. We care about our customers' opinions. We are happy to read you appreciated our hotel and our restaurant service. As far as the room, at the moment of the reservation you can always choose the type of room you prefer, considering balcony and/or sea view, with corresponding surcharges. With regard to the letterbox, we can assure you that letters and postcards are withdrawn and sent daily. We are sorry to understand that the Italian post system is that late. With regard to the beaches, Rina Hotel is always considered a strategic choice by tourists, being close to multiple beaches in Alghero. We are sorry if during your stay the closest beach wasn't well-kept, nonetheless we cannot respond about it. We hope that, overall, you spent a nice holiday in Sardinia and look forward to welcoming you again. Best regards.

We stayed at Rina Hotel for 2 weeks and had a a fabulous holiday!
The staff are what makes the hotel shine! Particularly Carlos the manager who always goes out of his way to ensure your every need is catered for.
A special mention to Barbara, Emma, Martina & Maria who were always so courteous & expert at their jobs. The pool area is very well maintained & the lifeguard very professional.
We hired bikes for the duration of our stay which the hotel organised which we highly recommend if you don't have a car.
The housekeepers are excellent & it was so lovely to come back to our room freshly stocked with fresh towels and crisp clean sheets everyday.
We loved our balcony with a seaview. Supermarket across the road and our room had a fridge. Beach & ice cream parlour & restaurants less than 2 minutes away.
We highly recommend!

We stayed a week and found all the services up to expectations. Also we very much enjoyed the upgrade of the room, despite having booked a double standard we were assigned a room with sea view and balcony. Recommended!

I’ll start with the good stuff: location is very good as only 5 min walk to multiple of beaches and restaurants, supermarket is across the road; the tastiest gelato shop is also across the road, 30 min walk to the old town or €10 taxi. The staff were great: helpful and friendly

We booked one bedroom apartment and the size of the apartment was good, the power in the shower was also good, but the shower size was too small, the shower door didn’t close properly. The kitchen is very basic, was not usable for us, no frying pan, no kettle, no wine glasses. The power sockets are in weird places, so you couldn’t charge your phone next to the bed.
Air conditioning is very weak and present only in living room.
We stayed 10 nights and no cleaning was done during our stay, towels were changed only once. This is a bit shocking for a 4 star hotel and for the price they charged for the apartment.

Alghero is a nice resort, which has plenty to offer, we would definitely return but not to this hotel.
