The hotel is well situated for turists to this interesting and beautiful city. Close to Centro Storico, to the port with sightseeing boats and the beautiful beach. The wall to the fortress with close to the water front is a nice frame on which thousands of people walk selecting there favourite cafeteria or restaurnt.

In saying that, the rooms are clean, the beds are comfortable, the air con works perfectly and the maid service is excellent it's just that the rooms are rather basic and a little tired. The bathroom is a good size and once again is kept spotlessly clean but the shower cubicle is about the size of an old red telephone...

We stayed for 3 nights at the Alghero City Hotel. It is rated as a four-star hotel, but three (small) stars would be more appropriate. Positive: It is situated about 100 m from the harbour and very cloud to the old town. Sandy beach is about 400 m away so excellent location. Friendly staff. Negative: Not soundproof at all so...

We only stayed one night on our tour of Sardinia to break our onward trip to the Costa smeralda ,this is a delightful town with a old walled town down by the port and in all honesty we could have stayed another night .The city hotel does its job but the rooms are tired if you want a longer break...

I stayed only 1 night as a solo traveller after several days on Sardinia to be close to the airport in Alghero for a very early flight out. This hotel is definitely no 4* as claimed. The room was very basic, the bed uncomfortable, the pillow was very thin and the duvet only a blanket without a cover. The AC...

Good: proximity to city center, Alghero old town Not so good - parking available only on street and depends on luck if it's the street in front of the hotel or 3-4 streets away. Also average breakfast. Bad: Our room had a strange smell when you entered. Apart from it it was ok although I had more the hospital feeling...

The Italian tourism agency is clearly on strike. If this hotel ever got a 4* rating at some point in the 1990s, it certainly doesn't deserve one today. Rooms are basic, bathrooms are dirty and lacking in maintenance, and the walls are thin. Very thin. The main upside to this hotel is its proximity to the historical town centre --...

Spent only 2 short nights here; one at the start and one at the end of our vacation. Large, clean and somewhat basic rooms. Our rooms did not face the street so we found the hotel quiet and convenient (but hard to find nearby street parking). The staff was nice enough, but the breakfast was (a bit) disappointing (coffee should...
