We have been to Venice in the past, stayed in Dorsoduro (Not the San Sebastiano Garden) and felt ripped off. Tiny room, terrible breakfast and rude staff.
HOWEVER, we had a beautiful room lots of space, really good breakfast, taken in the garden with a...More
Stayed at this hotel prior to boarding our cruise ship The Azamara Quest. It is very close to the smaller cruise terminal near San Basilio ferry. You can walk to the cruise terminal to checkin. It takes approximately 5 mins with luggage. The hotel itself...More
A very comfortable hotel in a great location. Not far from the heart of the centre of Venice, it was perfect for our short break and enabled us to walk to everything we wanted to see within minutes. The hotel was quiet and clean. The...More
We stayed here 4 nights and enjoyed every moment. The staff is warm, welcoming and very helpful.

Artsy is the defining mood of this neighbourhood with street artists, students, painters, sculptors, restorers, curators, historians, collectors, heirs and heiresses rubbing elbows. Peggy Guggenheim's collection, now a museum, lures chic locals for evening art aperitifs. Traditionalists and visionaries cocoon in bohemian luxury. La Salute basilica buttresses the neighbourhood to the east. Gondolas bob
in the morning light. The Accademia Bridge crosses the Grand Canal. A back street doubles as basketball court. Palaces house residents, or like Ca' Foscari a university, or a museum like Ca’ Rezzonico that attracts Venetians for concerts. Dorsoduro reveals its industrial roots too, in buildings converted to house university departments or exhibitions. Campo Santa Margherita bursts with youthful energy from local students. Foot traffic bustles to and from Piazzale Roma and Santa Lucia train station. Evening commuters pause for an aperitivo. Neighbours exchange confidants in a campo (square) on their way to market.

The 'airport shuttle' is a bus that takes you from Treviso airport onto the Venice main island. You have to pay, but it's very reasonable (I think about Eur8 - single) and you can buy the tickets just before you board the bus. I seem to remember we bought ours from a Ryanair agent while we were in the departure queue in London which saved us having to queue at Treviso.
From where the bus stops (Piazzale Roma), you could walk, or much better if you have luggage, you can take the water bus to San Basilio. From there it's a very short walk to the hotel.
When you get to Piazzale Roma you can buy various types of water bus (Vaporetto) tickets from the ticket kiosks. We bought 3 day passes and as you can use these to go on any waterbus, including the ones that take you out to Lido, Buranno and Muranno, found them good value.

Very easy indeed. You take the Blue line Alilaguna water bus from Marco Polo airport and get off at Zattere. Cost is 15 Euros. There is a ticket office as you approach the boats. It is quite a stroll from the airport terminal building and the signage is not too good but you just have to look.
You can walk to the hotel easily from the stop at Zattere as it is flat ground and there is a ramp over the one brideg if you are pulling cases. You have the water on your left and buildings on your right and at the end - just past the supermarket - you turn right - across a square and the hotel is on the right past some small shops.
You can take a vaparetto water bus from Zattere to the next stop San Basilo if you want to and that would only leave about 200 metres to the hotel across the small square and alongside the canal.
It is VERY worthwhile getting the two or three day passes for the vaperettos - hoping on and off is easy and they take you everywhere. It is the easiest way to see the Grand Canal...and the cheapest! Hope this helps?
