We stayed in Roberto's apartment in the Castillo area, and loved it! We were in a real residential neighborhood away from the masses of tourists. Roberto was super helpful, and introduced us to shops and restaurants in the area. There is a lovely park nearby, a wine shop with homemade wine, a floating vegetable market, and an awesome shop with...

It was really great. We get a really good location plan and Roberto took as from the Vaporetto to the apartement. So great! The apartement is small but enough for four people- 2 adults and 2 teenagers. It was clean and we had enought breakfast. All was ready when we came. Roberto and Marina were really courteous. We could ask...

My girlfriend and I spent two nights at this lovely place. Roberto is an excellent host and gave us nice useful tips to explore Venice. Often arriving in a city for the first time can be overwhelming but he told us everything we needed to know, the things to see, the places to eat so we could start enjoying Venice...

My husband and I had a brief but lovely stay here and it was just perfect. Centrally located, easy walk to all the main attractions in Venice. The place was very clean, with own bathroom, kitchen and all facilities including air con. Breakfast was abundant with bread, butter, coffee, milk, yogurt, croissants, fruit juice, etc. Hosts were very helpful with...

My daughter and I have just returned from a weekend in Venice and we booked and stayed in Roberto & Marina's apartment. This was on the recommendation of my parents who stayed there back in May. We found the accommodation to be fabulously located - it gave us a taste of real Venetian life away from the hordes of tourists,...

I loved staying here. The apartment was so convenient, very clean and strategically located in a quiet typical neighborhood close to about everything. That made it easy to explore the city and then take quick breaks in the apartment before going out again. I would go back.

I feel obliged to write this negative review as we have just returned from Venice and I'd like to share the experience. Roberto met us when we eventually got to the area and he seems a genuinely decent man. We had originally booked the attic and now that I've read other negative reviews about dogs and smoke, I'm grateful for...

Dear Sir, we always listen to what our guests have to say. Therefore, when you told us you found the apartment dirty, we immediately offered to give you your money back. That being said, we would like to get a few things straight: - as you can readily realize by reading what our guests write about us on this site,...

Wonderful location, near the city center, 15 minutes walking distance to the Rialto bridge and 6 minutes to the Lido beach via vaporetto. Nice, quiet and clean apartment in the miraculous world. Highly recommend it.

Our stay in Venice was really wonderful also thanks to this B&B and it's owners. Mr. Roberto is very sweet and helpful man. The apartment is clean and is situated in walkable distance from the heart of Venice. Prices are reasonable, hosts are amazing and the location... It's a venetian must have!!! ☺

Staying in Castello

Neighbourhood Profile
Castello is the largest of the six sestieri (districts), and the only one not facing onto the Grand Canal. More than half of Castello is situated within Arsenale, the naval base, which occupies over one-fifth the area of Venice. This gentrified maritime neighbourhood feels busy but casual. Castello’s side streets are laid back, with small boats lining canals criss-crossed by laundry. Semiannual exhibitions add a strong artsy current to the Arsenale area. Via Garibaldi in Castello, with its shops and bars, has one of Venice's rare straight and wide boulevards. When a large ship turns around the Lido to enter the Giudecca Canal, the startling sight creates an illusion that it will run aground right on Via Garibaldi! Families treasure Giardini near the island's tip, green with rare trees and grass, and Riva degli Schiavoni is a popular spot for Venetians to take a stroll to watch the sunset.
