We stayed in this hotel in the summer months of June, and found it a pleasant experience. As you may have noticed from the other reviews it is quite difficult to find. However, as long as you print off a map off google then, to be honest you'll find it fine. Take the Vaporetto and get off at Rialto. Now...

Firstly, if you were as unlucky as I was and found that the city's vaporettos were on strike, DO NOT attempt to wheel and carry your luggage by walking to this hotel from Santa Lucia station. If you could fork out a small fortune, hire a water taxi and alight at Ponte de Beccarie. My arms were falling off from...

We had a reservation for 4nites at this horror sewer hotel. We were excited to stay as the explanation of location and price were reasonable and of course it included the "breakfast". We arrived to Venice at the train station, took the vaporetto and made it to the Rialto area. Dragged our luggage thru the bridge and walked until we...

We stayed one night at this hotel and were advised that we would be in the annex. Of course we had no idea what that meant until we were shown the room. We ended up staying one night because we were tired and it was late but I would advise to stay away from this hotel. The room was strange...

Good, very clean, very comfortable and a recently renovated well appointed room in a charming hotel. Staff friendly, location of hotel for sightseeing couldn't be better and it's easy to find from the airport via coach link and waterbus. While in Venice however, don't bother if the price isn't displayed and beware of service charges and most importantly cover charges,...

Me, my fiancee and my parents stay 2 nights in this hotel during the recent summer. Location wise it is great, only 5 minutes walk away from Rialto Bridge and the waterbus stations. I had a little trouble finding it even with a map by the hotel because it is tucked away is a very small lane, so small you...

Great location very close to the Rialto Bridge. Had a map so was fairly easy to find. Also the pictures posted on this site were very useful. Breakfast wasnt the best but again having read other reviews we were prepared and at least there was something to eat. We would stay there again without hesitation. Wasnt over priced, fantastic location,...

First the bad stuff - as people have suggested, the staff are quite reserved, the beds were perhaps a little hard for my personal preference, the breakfast wasn't great and it is difficult to find. This is compounded by the fact that it is over a restaurant, Trattoria Antica Poste Vecie, but that you have to cross the small canal...

I was expecting the worse from the comments I read. It seems that they just renewed everything, new beds, drapes, bed covers, bathroom really clean and modern, I loved having a window with a little canal right there, It looked like a new hotel! It was a big room, quiet at night, with A/C, the surroundings are safe so you...

Amazing location. I actually found the place surprisingly easily but Venice is such an incredible city that it really wouldn't matter if you were having troubles locating it; you'd have the opportunity to explore the streets! The room was rustic and set out beautifully, although I didn't feel any social aspect to the dorm at all. The staff I spoke...

Staying in San Polo

Neighbourhood Profile
San Polo
The Rialto Bridge is the most famous sight along the Grand Canal in San Polo, smallest of Venice's six sestieri (districts) and by far the busiest neighbourhood. Morning Venetians arrive to peruse the markets for fish, fruit and vegetables, while shops display goods from cheese to wine to desserts. San Silvestro and Rialto Market vaporetto (water taxi) stops add to the steady stream of foot traffic. San Polo is defined by churches including Basilica dei Frari, one of the most important churches sought by art lovers.
