This place is an excellent B & B. I felt like a guest in their home and the breakfast was a great touch. Beautiful courtyard in the back yard. Easy to walk anywhere even to the Rialto Bridge. Internet was the best in all of Italy. Nick and Daniel are the most gracious hosts and give excellent information on where... More

The hotel is very nice only 6 rooms remodelled and very clean. The owner is so pleasant and helpful. Location is great for access to airport and cruise terminal. The owner made arrangements for transferring our luggage to the ship which went off with out a hitch. Highly recommend this place.

My wife and I had a great time staying here in late June/early July. Room and bathroom were very clean and comfortable. AC was worked well during a very hot time of the year. Room had a free safe to use which was nice as well. Staff was very welcoming and helpful with their advice on where to eat. Breakfast... More

We stayed for two nights and found the hotel to be perfectly suitable for what we needed. Location wise this is perfect, 5 minute walk away from the car park area which in 30 degree heat, motorbike gear and helmets and carrying two bags matters! The hotel is in a side street so it's quieter than being canal facing but... More

Just off of Piazzelle Roma on a quiet street near restaurants. Short walk to main attractions in Venice. Very nice clean rooms. Air conditioned and wi-FI. Good breakfast in the morning. The owners were very helpful with suggestions regarding where to eat or what to see. A great place to stay.

Pros: location near piazza Roma which is the last point of land taxi or land bus drop off. It will cost you "only" Euro 25 to get a porter to get your luggage over one bridge. Clean. Airconditioned, Quiet, a few restaurants near by. Chatty owners. Venice is amazing, enjoyed so much and were mostly only at the hotel to... More

Dear Ms. reg2585 We deeply regret that you didn't appreciate your stay at our Locanda, and that you found our services unsatisfactory, although they are in line - and even more than that - with our hotel category. More than anything, we would like to state that taking advantage of our guest is absolutely not - and never was found... More

My wife and I stayed 3 nights in Venice pre-cruise at this fantastic B&B. Very quite just down from the Grande Canal and a 5 minutes from the people mover to arrive on a ship. We stayed on the 3rd. floor and the room was beautiful with plenty of room. Bathroom was simple but adequate for showers. Room was clean.... More

This small hotel was close to the bus and train stations (only had one bridge to get over with suitcases) but on a quiet side street. Owners were very accommodating when we arrived in the early morning and on checkout day by letting us leave our bags with them. Room was clean and spacious. It was about a 30 minute... More

Staying in Dorsoduro / Accademia

Neighbourhood Profile
Dorsoduro / Accademia
Artsy is the defining mood of this neighbourhood with street artists, students, painters, sculptors, restorers, curators, historians, collectors, heirs and heiresses rubbing elbows. Peggy Guggenheim's collection, now a museum, lures chic locals for evening art aperitifs. Traditionalists and visionaries cocoon in bohemian luxury. La Salute basilica buttresses the neighbourhood to the east. Gondolas bob in the morning light. The Accademia Bridge crosses the Grand Canal. A back street doubles as basketball court. Palaces house residents, or like Ca' Foscari a university, or a museum like Ca’ Rezzonico that attracts Venetians for concerts. Dorsoduro reveals its industrial roots too, in buildings converted to house university departments or exhibitions. Campo Santa Margherita bursts with youthful energy from local students. Foot traffic bustles to and from Piazzale Roma and Santa Lucia train station. Evening commuters pause for an aperitivo. Neighbours exchange confidants in a campo (square) on their way to market.
