Nice cozy place in the backstreets of Venice away from the hordes of tourists. Just a couple minutes walk from a vaporetto station (S. Stae) and short walk to Rialto bridge. I would recommend this place if you want an authentic experience, it is like having an apartment in a Venice neighborhood for a few days!! Stayed in the room...

My wife, son, and I just stayed here for 2 nights and had an excellent experience. We stayed in a triple room with ensuite bath/shower and it was perfect. We like to stay in non-chain like places when travelling abroad to get a more personal experience where we can hopefully benefit from interaction with people that live in the community....

The hotel is quite a way from St. Marks square/Rialto, but maybe it only felt so far because in the same week we stayed in a hotel right on the square itself. Note- we didn't mind this too much as not a huge fan of St Marks (the tourist beehive of Venice), we much preferred being out in the neighbourhoods....

The staff - Mario and Esmerelda - were the loveliest people you could meet! When we arrived in Venice, we had already received a phone call from Mario asking when we would be there. He then met us at the metro stop and walked us to the hotel. When we arrived at the hotel Mario kindly sat us down and...

Venice is a labyrinth so it was great that Marco's mother came to the boat stop to walk us to the B & B. It was a comfortable place to stay that gave an authentic feeling of being more a guest in a home than in a hotel. The breakfast was fresh and tasty, and had yoghurt for my gluten-free...

Mario and Esmeralda are so nice that it makes it difficult to write any criticism. Everything was perfect, the house is well located very close to main attractions. We found the room to be small even though we know everything is small in Venice. They give complete information about the city and Esmeralda is a perfect tourist guide when telling...

Wonderful stay. Esmeralda and Mario are great hosts always happy to give good advices on this beautiful city. Everything was perfect since the moment we arrived and were taken to the house, a newly restaured house, well refurbished, very cosy and very clean. There is a restaurant nearby "Muro" which is excellent. To recommend. Thanks a lot.

Vice is a labyrinth. But thanks to the information given by Mario prior to the arrival we were able to stop at S. Stae boat stop where Esmeralda came to pick us to the house. Breakfast is continental not American,no buffet bkfst. The best part of the B&B is the friendly welcome by Mario & Esmeralda and all the tips...

Compared to other cities (big and small), Venice is very difficult to navigate. This hotel is located in a very narrow street - this and streets leading to it like MANY Other streets in Venice are extremely narrow - Cars surely CAN NOT fit. Inquiring based on the address is NO HELP. So, finding the hotel is extremely difficult even...

When we arrived in Venice, the owner gentleman was very kind to meet us at the shuttle boat from the airport. Without his help we would never have found the B&B. He helped carry our luggage and provided us with information with places to eat and to visit. We met his wife the first morning, she was an absolute delight...

Staying in San Polo

Neighbourhood Profile
San Polo
The Rialto Bridge is the most famous sight along the Grand Canal in San Polo, smallest of Venice's six sestieri (districts) and by far the busiest neighbourhood. Morning Venetians arrive to peruse the markets for fish, fruit and vegetables, while shops display goods from cheese to wine to desserts. San Silvestro and Rialto Market vaporetto (water taxi) stops add to the steady stream of foot traffic. San Polo is defined by churches including Basilica dei Frari, one of the most important churches sought by art lovers.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Our Bed & Breakfast finds itself in the center of Venice, 5 minutes walking from the famous Rialto bridge, and 15 minutes walking from Piazza San Marco. We are close to the main fish market place where there is a public transport gondola service which enables everyone to cross the Grand Canal for 2 euros per person. Our home is located in one of the oldest areas of Venice, where most houses are from the 13th century. Indeed Venetians used to leave originally in Torcello island, and then decided from the 8th century to move from the island of Torcello, more exposed to the Barbars invasions, to settle in the current Rialto area. Esmeralda and Mario, the owners who personally attend all guests during check-in, check-out and breakfast time, will answer all your questions and help you take most advantage of your stay in Venice. ... more   less
