Beautiful hotel that sits a couple bridges back from the tourist areas. Staff was polite and very accommodating. Large bathroom with tub and shower. Bedroom was also a nice size. This was the nicest hotel we stay at as we toured Europe.

HOTEL’S FAVOURITE REVIEW
Reviewed 29 May 2016

The location was quiet and drenched in history. The hotel was beautiful, very clean, very comfortable, very well equipped and you had a sense of travelling back in time to the soul of the Orient Express. The staff were magnificent - very helpful, extremely efficient and fluent in many languages. The room was ultra comfortable, very quiet and excellently equipped....

beautiful little gem of a hotel, in a very quiet part of the old Jewish quarter. Very kind and helpful staff. Breakfast was a little staid but edible with good coffee. Room was comfortable with beautiful decor and great bathroom.

My parents and I stayed here from April 9-12 and it was incredible! The hotel is about a mile away from the city center, which allowed us to see way more than had we stayed near the tourist attractions. The location was also extremely quiet and peaceful which was nice after spending our days around the crowds. We could not...

A very pleasant hotel with nice sized rooms. We had a superior deluxe that was well appointed, and even a walk-in closet area with lots of room for clothes. The staff was friendly and helpful and the little bar was a restful spot after a hectic day in the city. Nice hot breakfast as well.

My husband and I stayed here for the last two nights of our 2 week Italian vacation, and it was the perfect way to leave Italy. I did choose it with the quiet location in mind and it was perfect in that respect. We were able to walk with our small carry on suitcases to the hotel from the train...

We completely loved our experience at the Ai Mori d'Oriente Hotel. From the friendly and helpful front desk to the wonderfully delicious and expansive breakfast offerings and the beautiful decor. When we first arrived we were early so our room was not available but they happily held our bags and recommended several very good places to eat. We count our...

Just had a fabulous holiday in Italy; started in Rome & then on to Venice. Friends had recommended staying in the Cannaregio area of Venice - where the hotel Ai Mori d'Oriente is located - because it is a bit quieter than the other regions & generally has better quality restaurants? We have been used to large 5* family hotels...

Went to this hotel a few weeks ago with my daughter for her special birthday. One of our highlights was arriving at the steps of this lovely hotel by private boat from the airport. This was worth the money and I would highly recommend ! We had a lovely room with a small balcony. There was not much of a view...

We spent two nights in the hotel, they upgraded us to a suite which was fantastic....it's located near the water taxis and is in a quieter neighborhood, but has restaurants and other shops in the area. The staff was very helpful and pleasant, the breakfast was delicious - - we will stay there again. The room was large, clean, comfortable...

Staying in Cannaregio

Neighbourhood Profile
Cannaregio
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighbourhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.
