We enjoyed this 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom stay and found our way around Venice. Communication was a small challenge as we were told en route which vaporetto stop to use instead of the address we thought we had booked. The hosts were kind to instruct us on the amenities and provided coffee. The bathrooms were adequate, better cleaning of exhaust...

We've stayed in Venice for a romantic weekend and the accommodations exceeded our expectations. The staff provided me the instructions on how to get to the place, and the process of check-in made it everything simple. The accommodations were very comfortable, clean and with a fantastic terrace facing one of the channels. The breakfast was very good with the advantage...

The location of this hotel cannot be faulted it is a perfect base for exploring Venice and is easily found using google maps. The staff were friendly and it was good to be able to leave our luggage after checkout. The breakfast is basic but nice to start your day off with. Would definitely return to this hotel to explore...

I found this place through a search on a home rental site. I emailed the owner to get additional information about the specific flat for rent because we are a family of four and I wanted to confirm accommodations. The website was a little unclear on the details. The owner responded promptly, and was very friendly and patient in answer...

Located withing a stone's throw of the Rialto Bridge, the Locanda delle Acque is perfectly placed as a base for exploring Venice. It is a 10 minute walk in one direction to Saint Mark's Square and the same distance to the Fondamente Nove vaporetto wharf in another. We disembarked a cruise ship around 9:30am and had little trouble getting our...

We had a room with an own roof terrace and canal view. The room was big and nice but a bit old dated. Both beds were very bad to sleep and I wish there would have been fridge and some tableware because this was an apartment, not hotel. Breakfast was brought to the room every morning and it was ok....

The B&B is situated in a great location with easy access from Rialto Pier - 3 minutes walk. We stayed at the top floor overlooking the canal and 2 bridges - Great View. The owner was so friendly that he delivered breakfasts to our room and offered to leave luggage after we had checked out.

We found the Locanda della Acque to be a great Bed and Breakfast for a short visit to Venice. We arrived before the check in time but were able to leave our luggage and start exploring and we came back to find our room ready and luggage in our room. The room was very nice, the bed was comfortable and...

We enjoyed our stay. The room was small and the closet was not too accessible but everything was there...hairdryer, bidet, shower, comfortable bed. The breakfast brought to your door each morning was very good. Cappuchino, ham and cheese, croissants etc. I would use it again.

Staying in San Marco

Neighbourhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.

“The trek up the 4 flights of stairs to the top floor is definitely worth it for the big terrace and amazing view!”
 of 5 bubbles Charlotteo92, 2 Feb 2015 | Read review
“The stairway is steep and narrow, so if you bring heavy suitcases or have some walking or climbing limitations, book the room on the first floor and just take your time to climb up. This being a very central and a relatively less expensive facility, it is advisable to book your reservation many months in advance, particularly if you plan on visiting during the tourist season. Although graphs will tell you that the peak tourist season in Venice is well passed by late September, the Locanda was always occupied to capacity during our stay.”
