My husband and I stayed at Hotel Ca' Dogaressa Nov. 22-24. Everything is nice about this hotel. Our room was beautiful, clean and well maintained, Daniele and Paolo were very pleasant and helpful, and the coffee they served us for breakfast was superb! We will definitely stay in this hotel next time we visit Venice.

Hotel Ca' Dogaressa lived up to all the wonderful reviews. Our room was beautiful. We stayed in a junior suite with a view of the canal. The location was great - it was within easy walking distance of everything and yet it was not on the tourist circuit. We would definitely stay at Hotel Ca' Dogaressa again!

After reading many reviews on hotels in venice we finally settled on Ca' Dogaressa. I am so happy we did! The hotel is not too far from the train station - I was 6 mos pregnant at the time and managed the walk + my luggage with no problem. Once we arrived we were greeted warmly by Paolo - so...

My wife and I enjoyed our 2 night stay at this hotel and the next time we are in Venice, this place would definately be our first choice in booking a place to stay. The room was clean. The service and staff were excellent. You have internet access in the room, but you need a laptop. If you do not...

We picked this hotel as it was close to the train station and had received good reviews on tripadvisor. The walk from the train station isn’t bad if your luggage has good wheels and you have good energy for it, Check in was easy and our room had a nice European feel to it with lots of gold. Bathroom was...

This is a great place to stay in Venice. Very close to shopping, food stores, restaurants, and quick access to the vaporettos. Choose the junior suite and overlook the Cannaregio Canal in a spacious, attractive room. One major plus. Just a ten minute walk from the train station crossing only one bridge which has a ramp. No hefting luggage and...

Like all the other reviewers who praised this hotel they are right. The location is just a short walk from the bus station. The Orange stop for the airport on the Alilaguna line is 100 yards away. Our room was beautifully finished and exceptionally clean and the most silent hotel i have ever been in, not a squeak from the...

What can I say, it has all been said before! For the money it can't be beaten. The owner is very keen to please and goes out of his way to make sure everything is just so. The only slight negative is a lack of lounge area, but we knew that before we booked. Area is great and everything is within...

This hotel is a great option. The area is quite nice and close to the train station (walking distance even if you carry your luggage). You will have the chance to have breakfast next to a canal, which is a lovely experience. The staff, which is a family, is the most helpful people I have met during my trip to...

All of the reviewers who praised this hotel are right - it's a gem. The location is great - just a short walk from the train station and the vaporetto stop in front of the station. Staying in Cannaregio

Neighbourhood Profile
Cannaregio
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighbourhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.
