We really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Mignon. It's in a very cute area of town with yummy restaurants near by. Furthermore, the service at this hotel is outstanding. The person on staff all night, his name was Fernando I believe, or Frederiko. I cannot remember exactly. But he was wonderful!!! He was so helpful and he ensured that our...

Good location. Even though the room wasn't the best furbished, it was very affordable and facillitated. Italians are not well known for their friendliness, however the staff went out of their way to help us, very helpful and friendly. Overall an excellent stay at this hotel.

I stayed with my wife and 3 kids in July 2015 and had an incredibly good experience.I have been lucky enough to stay in many hotels but none compare to the treatment I experienced by Flavio and his colleagues at hotel mignon. They went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable understanding gully that's it's not easy with 3...

I was a little concerned when none of my AirBnb contacts got back to me and all the hotels I had looked at were $300+ Euros a night. I didn't want to spend much money for just 1 night so I literally got on my phone after landing at the Marco Polo airport and got on Hotels.com and found this...

Booked this for my 19yo daughter and a friend. They loved the hotel and had a great time. They loved the location, and their private room in the main hotel. No complaints whatsoever. I would definitely stay there based on their experience. It's a great deal.

Average accommodation, but well located in a quiet area between St Marks Square and the railway station. Staff are all very friendly and accommodating. Breakfast is more than adequate, but the start time of 8am is in my view too late, particularly in summer.

The staff is friendly, the room we stayed in on the very top floor was very tiny and had a moldy musty smell especially when the AC was not on. Limited options for breakfast. We also had to lug our extremely heavy luggage up 4 or 5 flights of stairs, I can't remember because I almost fainted by the time...

Couldn't stop running from room to room checking out and taking pictures of the amazing 360 degree view. Penthouse apartment on what we would call the 4th floor, so you have to climb some stairs. But oh the view is worth it, of lagoon, canals, marina, rooftops, vaporetti, Mulano, even faint mountains in the distance. Huge space by the way,...

Relatively quite expensive hotel for its location , room quality, facilities or anything that it offers. But it seems like Venice is an expensive tourist destination. We paid about 250 Euros a night per room and we got their Laguna Blu apartments . One of the apartment ( 3rd floor) was spacious with windows and of new taste. The other...

We booked this location at the last minute and were at first delighted to have found the hotel had an apartment with WiFi, a laundry, kitchen, etc. We thought this would be perfect for our kids, but that delight soon went south. The first night we discovered the washer was full of days/weeks old stagnant water inside of it from...

Staying in Cannaregio

Neighbourhood Profile
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighbourhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.
