We have just come back from a 4 day trip to Venice. I travelled with my husband and 5 year old daughter. The hotel is very conveniently located to the major sights. We stayed in a suite which was very spacious but it had no sound insulation between the 2 bedrooms as there was no door. It had 1 bathroom...

We thank you for your review. Our Suites are very spacious from 40 to 50 square metres. The sitting room area is divided from the main room by a wall, there is no door but usually it is not so noisy. Our Buffet Breakfast is rich, it has a wide variaty of sweet and salad items including some hot things...

We just spent two weeks in Italy and Venice was our first stop. The Hotel Dona Palace is small, quaint, easy to access-once you know where it is, and is certainly a winner. The reception desk is manned 24 hours straight, so there is always some one available to you. Secondly, the front desk reception is friendly and professional and...

We had booked a jr. suite at Dona Palace and were not disappointed in the room size. We had wanted a canal view so we were upgraded (yes, at a slight extra cost) but the hotel was very helpful getting us a room we would like. Later in the day the aircon went out in our part of the hotel....

Stayed twice at the Dona palace as was doing a cruise and the staff were great and the rooms well apponted and clean, only draw back with Venice was the water taxis to and from airport and cruise ship, very pricey, otherwise the Dona was a great spot to stay and would stay again, careful of the venice corner store...

My husband and I had a standard room overlooking the canal, and although well presented and appeared refurbished, wasn't overly spacious. As we spent little time in the room during the day, this didn't matter. We also had the same issue over the air conditioning, and I was bothered by biting mosquitos, as we too needed the windows to be...

Dear Mrs, first of all let me thank you for the high valutation you gave to our hotel. We always try to give our guets the best we can. Let me answer you about the tv channel. In Italy we are step by step, passing from the analogic method to the digital one. By the fall of this year even...

This hotel was chosen mainly because of it's location (2 minutes walk from St. Mark's Square) and price for the rating, and I can honestly say that I wasn't disappointed. Compared to other hotels I've stayed in over the years this is a relatively small hotel and as a result it has quite a laid back and relaxed feel to...

We stayed our first night at Dona Palace in a junior suite. Upon arrival at the airport, visit the Vistors Information Desk and purchase tickets for the water bus. Exit the airport building andtake a left, following the covered walkway and signs which will bring you to the water (about a 7 minute walk on flat ground). Take the water...

Venice was our last stop after 3 weeks in Greece and other cities in Italy. We found Dona Palace to be a very good hotel to end our vacation. The location is very convenient to St. Mark's Square but just far enough away to be quiet. We had a junior suite and the room was very large. We had a...

We had been in several cities in Italy with our trip ending in Venice. We stayed 3 nights at this very good hotel. We had booked the Junior Suite because it wasn't that much more than a standard room. I am glad we did. It was a very large room with 2 couches, a desk, and large bathroom. The bed...

Staying in San Marco

Neighbourhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.

A classy, elegant, luxury boutique hotel, the Donà Palace is a four star property overlooking the Rio at the Doge's Palace with its famous Bridge of Sighs, just a few steps from Europe's largest drawing room, Saint Mark's Square. The Hotel Donà Palace's exclusive setting in the historic heart of Venice is favoured for its priviledged position.
