We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and will definitely stay again! It's a lovely hotel with friendly staff in a nice location. It is expensive, but reasonable for Venice. From the minute we walked through the doors and were welcomed with a smile and a free drink, to when we left, staying here was a lovely experience. The staff do...

we stayed here for 3 nights, it's a lovely hotel with friendly staff. The room was very clean and comfortable with a Nspresso machine and mini bar. It's only a few minutes walk from the bus station and it's in a good location.

We loved it here. We stayed for four nights which cost us about 3 months rent! But we were on our honeymoon and have no regrets. The staff are amazing - attentive and friendly. Someone has them very well trained indeed. We enjoyed having a few drinks with the nibbles provided in the evening and getting to know other guests. ALL...

Stayed here for our 25th wedding anniversary and first visit to Venice. From our free drink and nibbles on arrival to the time we left the hotel, staff were helpful and friendly. Our room was light and airy with a wonderful view over the canal. Even during the busiest times the room was quiet with the windows closed. The beds...

What can we say that hasn't been said before - quiet easy location, wonderful attentive helpful staff, generous breakfasts and happy hours, intimate lounge to catch up on news, read and relax, a quiet bedroom at back of hotel overlooking garden, a cold bottle of bubbles to welcome - for us "perfetto" in every respect. My husband has difficulty walking...

A very good boutique hotel, but with no restaurant for lunch or dinner. We paid extra for a canal view and got a very nice spacious, and quiet, room with an excellent bathroom. The bed was large but quite firm. Nice breakfast each day, continental style but they will make omelettes for example. There are nibbles available all day and...

Wonderful place to stay. Amazing breakfast and staff. The location is so easy to find when arriving from the airport. If you are ensure what to do in Venice then just walk and get lost. It's amazing what you find. If only all hotels could be modelled on this one.

Hotel Moresco is a small boutique hotel centrally located near to Piazza de Roma. All staff members were warm and provided very personal service. All were very helpful with directions, making reservations and making us feel welcome. Our room was spacious, quiet and comfortable. The buffet breakfast was very good and provided anything and everything we desired for breakfast. Every...

The location of the hotel is not far from the parking outside of Venice and is near beautiful little streets with many restaurants and shops. It is a 20 mins walk from the Rialto bridge and San Marco Square, which is great since you don't have much noise outside of the hotel. The rooms themselves are exceptional- the toiletries and...

Just one night at this lovely hotel and we will be back. Staff all helpful and welcoming. Nothing too much trouble to do or be asked about. Welcome drink and snack on arrival whilst they checked us in (no standing around at reception here!) - we had red wine in beautiful glasses and mini pizza at 10.30 in the morning!...

Staying in Santa Croce

Neighbourhood Profile
Santa Croce
Santa Croce gained importance as a sestiere (district) when Piazzale Roma was created in the 1930s to bring cars and buses close to the center of Venice. Constitution Bridge spans the Grand Canal linking Piazzale Roma to the train station. This area buzzes with energy from travelers and students. Historic palaces and former industrial buildings house some departments of Ca' Foscari and IUAV Architecture universities. On the Fondaco dei Turchi, Venice's Museum of Natural History offers Venetians prehistoric thrills, plus an overview of lagoon fish and wildlife. The Grand Canal, northern boundary of Santa Croce, is lined with palaces and decorated by the tall green dome of San Simeon Piccolo. Ca' Pesaro attracts Venetians to its contemporary art exhibitions. The Grand Canal exposes only one face of these buildings. On the opposite side, the palace often interacts with a square or a busy street to represent its neighbourhood identity.
