ok - this room was very small (we stayed in a quad room) but really, you can't expect too much space in Venice. It was small, but it was clean and nice enough. We only had wifi in the breakfast room but the staff were very upfront with that, so we knew exactly what to expect. We found the breakfast...

We stayed at the Ca' San Polo at the beginning of July for 3 nights with our 2 sons. We absolutely loved it! This was our fourth time in Venice so we decided to try a different hotel and were not disappointed. It is a bit further from the Rialto Bridge than we usually stay but it was an easy...

We stayed here for a few nights in October 2010. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and our room was nice (not too big) but quiet, clean and comfortable. Location was quite convenient – and although this wasn’t in the ‘tourist central’ part of Venice (rialto/san marco), it was about a 10 minute walk to Rialto Bridge. Although Venice...

My family of 4 stayed at the Hotel Ca' San Polo for 3 nights on our recent visit to Venice. We stayed in a quad room, which barely fit the 2 queen size beds it containined. But the beds were comfortable, and the high ceiling in the room made it feel more spacious. The staff was friendly, and the breakfast...

Quaint hotel with Venetian thematic rooms. Incredible roof top deck to enjoy a nice company, drinks and view. Gourmet breakfast. Very friendly and helpful staff. Reasonably priced. Good WIFI connection and A/C. IF YOU HAVE HEAVY LUGGAGE DO NOT TAKE THE RIALTO STATION PLEASE TAKE ST. TOMA.

Stayed for 2 nights in a (superior) triple room in early May 2011. Booked through booking.com at ~£130/night. Let's get one thing clear, where space comes at a premium, staying on the actual island of Venice is not cheap. We chose this hotel due to reading reviews and was one of the cheaper 3-star hotels we could find available. The...

We (3 ladies) stayed in this hotel for three nights and we were satisfied with our stay. As written here the room was small but very nice furnished and clean. Enough for our stay - we were most of the day away in town. The staff is available from morning to evening and is very helpful. We were also very...

This small hotel may go unnoticed for many, which is a great shame, because it is one of the best hotels i have had the honour to stay. The night at the cheapest room only cost us 50e, very low price for venice or Italy in general. It, however, provided such superb service, tasty breakfast and comfortable, warm room with...

The location is great and very close to Santa Maria Gloriosa dei Frari which is one of the church I really like. The breakfast is decent. But the staff are very friendly. The staff named Alyssa was pleasant to talk, very nice, & friendly. We need to check out very early to catch our 9:30 am flight out of Marco...

We booked a standard double but wished we booked a superior as our room was so tiny it was verging on claustrophobic. The view was of a wall... not the sort of view you wish for in this beautiful city of canals. The rooftop patio above the breakfast room is also very tiny and you had to stoop down under...

Staying in San Polo

Neighbourhood Profile
San Polo
The Rialto Bridge is the most famous sight along the Grand Canal in San Polo, smallest of Venice's six sestieri (districts) and by far the busiest neighbourhood. Morning Venetians arrive to peruse the markets for fish, fruit and vegetables, while shops display goods from cheese to wine to desserts. San Silvestro and Rialto Market vaporetto (water taxi) stops add to the steady stream of foot traffic. San Polo is defined by churches including Basilica dei Frari, one of the most important churches sought by art lovers.
