Near to train station (5 min walk), good location, wifi is powerful, clean bed. the bad thing is the hotel does not have lift and the breakfast is very simple but enough for starting the day. Reception employees are very kind and helpful.

We stayed in room 42 which is out in the garden. The room was spotless, quiet, cozy, and perfect. Bed was comfy, with plenty of space to walk in the room, hang clothes, and not trip over the suitcases. Towel warmer was a real treat! Breakfast was typical hard boiled eggs, bread, meats, cheese, yogurt, cold cereal, juice, and coffee...

Hello, we recently stayed at the Villa Rosa during our stay in Italy. What a cute little gem! It was close walking distance from the train station and one block in from the main walking street. Super convenient yet far enough so it wasn't noisy. The rooms that we saw were all recently remodeled and very nicely done. Each one...

We loved our 2 night stay and wish we had had longer.... Venice is a beautiful city and if we get back there I would be happy to stay at Hotel Villa Rosa.... it's a small, cheerful and good value, it's not fancy, but it's ckean, tidy and has everything you need.

This is a reasonably priced hotel with easy access to train station and water taxi. If you arrive by train, you will be pleased with its location, not needing to drag your luggage on the cobblestone street and bridges. Staff is very friendly. Our room is modern, looks like recently renovated. There is no elevator and stairway is narrow. We...

This hotel is a gem. The rooms are lovely, really modern and nicely furnished and extremely clean. The bathroom is very modern too. The reception staff were very helpful and friendly and they let us use one of the tables in the breakfast room to play cards in the evening with the friends we were traveling with. The hotel is...

The Hotel was easy to find and close to the train station. The staff went above and beyond to help us. Even walking me and showing to the water taxi pick up point after he finished work. The breakfast was well catered.

Kind of difficult to find the "street" to the hotel. It is a very narrow walkway and because we didn't see a sign on the building, we walked past it twice before getting exact directions. Very quiet because it is away from the busy street but yet really close to the train station and less than 1/2 mile from Piazzale...

Staying in Cannaregio

Neighbourhood Profile
Cannaregio
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighbourhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.
