This hotel is close to everything you want to see in Venice and more. You do not need to take the water bus to many places - just walk. Our room 105 was a junior suite which was very nice and has a lovely bathroom plus a canal view. The room was serviced ish everyday but empty glasses and cups...

Hotel is close to St Marks Square and has access from the canal.we were initially given room 206, it has a window over one of the side alleys, it was oppressively hot in the room and no air con working,it was impossible to sleep, no way to cool the room down other that open the window, which made the room...

Lovely quaint hotel. Don't expect the Ritz. It's reasonably clean and accommodation is comfortable. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Our room had a small balcony with a view up &down the street. Ideal location close to the square with plenty of good restaurants near by. Would definitely recommend.

We stayed here for a birthday treat and in room 401 which was excellent. Great canal views Hotel is centrally located and has a nice bar but is an old building which is to be expected in central Venice so yes there are some marks on walls and peeling paint but this adds to the character More importantly the plumbing...

A junior suite was large enough for 3 friends The hotel is well placed on a canal and close to St Marks Square. I should have taken more notice of the map to find the hotel initially but other hotels' staff were helpful. Enjoyed the associated bar and bistro. Office and breakfast staff were helpful.

We stayed at the hotel for 3 nights in January 2017. Having read some of the adverse comments on Tripadvisor, I was a little concerned about our choice of hotel. We needn't have worried! I don't think the hotel would claim to be 5 star; if it had been we would have had to be prepared to pay much more...

A wonderful hotel, very conveniently located close to everything. The staff staff were excellent, cheerful, very helpful and good fun. With beautiful views in the canal side rooms. This was our 3rd visit to Venice and our 2nd stay at the All' Angelo. On the second visit we stayed at the very up market Monaco & Gran Canal hotel which...

I booked this hotel through BA then read some reviews on trip advisor and I have to say I was a little worried. However, all rubbish. We contacted the hotel and asked for a nice room. We paid a bit more for a room overlooking the canal and it was amazing to see all the traffic going past along with...

I got this hotel very cheap on the British Airways sale, however it was perfect for what we needed it for. The beds are a good size and very comfy with plenty of wardrobe space. The bathroom is a great size with a huge powerful shower and a good size bath. All the staff were very helpful and friendly and...

Staying in San Marco

Neighbourhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
